Separation anxiety

Image
So me and Edgar were pretty much just me and Edgar... And daddy on his days off. But mainly for almost two years it was just me and little man.  It was wonderful, fun, learning experience , super tiring, and all sort of other craziness that mumming comes with. But from the last month we committed to nursery and started to go there from 1st of August.  Our nursery offers settling sessions. So two out of four were great. He came in happy and went off playing straight away. They just can't feed him. But that will come. The last two sessions he had to be pulled off me by staff. Tears and screams. And my heart was breaking. My brain understands that it is just an act and it's won't be like this all the time... But my heart still breaking.  For the 1st time he was staying longer than two hours yesterday. And the tears! His little face was all red and wet from being so upset about me leaving him. But then after I have stopped feeling like the worst person ...

Time... Stop! I am not ready!

Last week was the week of firsts...  So Edgar climbed out of the his cot at his grand parents.... He just looked so pleased with himself. But I wasn't so. This means the nap time over there will be a nightmare.  Some one also got his first scraped knee.  We were out in the park with the dog and Egg jumped off the bench and landed on some gravel. But he was very brave. Had a little cry and then was just fasinated by that new thing on his knee! And finally my little boy is a little climber. If you are following me on Instagram you would have seen a post from few days ago...  He can't quiet reach with his feet so he uses his knees. That kid is so smart!  ... But not when he is having a tantrum and headbutts the floor or the wall....  But thinking about him growing up so quickly I can't help but cry. God I am such a mum!

Sleep training...

Image
We love our boy just too much... And we don't want him to cry at night so we always picked him up and cuddle him. So he won't go to sleep by himself ever. We had a brief moment in time when he did fell asleep by himself but he was just a small baby then.  And he also migrated into our bed. I guess with the moving we did in his first year of life it might be very complicated to  get used to one bedroom.  It is nice to have your baby next to you sleeping and hugging but not all the time and not when this baby takes all the space and also like to kick and pull your hair... Enough was enough and besides he is a big boy (relatively) right now so we have decieded to finally move him into his own room and to try to sleep train....  We have been doing if for about a week now... Edgar will have a bath, we get ready for bed and read him a story. They he would go into his cot with a bottle and  we will leave the room... And few minutes later he will be sound asleep. It is ...

Motherhood. Quick updates.

Today Egg decided to mushed banana into his face.... while the banana was still in the bowl. It was just too cute! He is learning new things, like cuddling, eating new things, chewing things properly and chasing after mama. That is super hard! He runs, as fast as he can, and yells at the closed door or at the blocked stairs. But he also forgets how to do things, if before he was waving like a mad person now he barely does this. I suppose we need to practice more... It was also a week of new things. We finally met lovely Lucia, Egg was so pleased to see another little one. When we were walking around in the restaurant we looked into the pram with a little 9 week old baby. Eggy's face was a picture, he was so pleased to looked at some one who is so small. Although he still did not master "gentle touch" he really wanted to touch Lucia but he just wanted to do the usual bashing. So that didn't happen, but she did touch him. So freaking adorable. Also ...

Edgar walks!! Lock up your daughters he is coming for them!.... I can just watch him all day long like this. Is this what motherhood feels like?

It's been a while

I would like to apologise for not finding time... Well and then the blogger wouldn't work for me. Maybe it's me... Very hurt, blogger!  But I also have been busy. Last week Egg man wasn't very well, picked up a cold in the play group. So all the entertainment was at home.  We rediscovered Sailormoon, well I have. At times it was rather challenging to keep a snotty baby happy. But we managers, even men our Grammy for lunch on Sunday. Egg man does enjoy the trips out and wagamama do great food for him to try out ... Noodles, shiitake mushroom, chicken katsu.  Mumming is very busy! I was making food for Boy too...  Edgar is tying so much food and flavours ... And he is also active lately... Crawling walking... Terrorising pets:)  Bunny is being a good sport! And every runs up to him:)  The fish however are in trouble... With Edgar tap tap taping on the side of the tank...  We actually have to get gates, but...

Babies babies babies

Oh yay royal baby is a little girl. Little princess! How cute! You know how I said I still struggle a bit with my new identity in the previous post? Well I cannot call Egg "my son" he is "my baby" or "my boys" (when two of them obviously), but never my son... Strange right. Oh if you are a mum or about to become one, I highly recommend One Bad Mother podcast. It's so much fun! Little man is doing great, eat sleeps and poops. He gets super excited when he sees the pool and splashes with both arms and legs now. Swimming lessons are more fun every time. However he is way too interested in the edges of the pool and how they feel.  And now also he is on the move. Crawls and pulls him self up to walk or stand around.... I think most of babies crawling then they starting to walk right? But now at the same time! Mama needs eyes everywhere. But now he learns to fall down properly & not hurting himself. I would say we get ...

Baby smiles

I think Edgar started teething when he was about 4 months old... Everything was a chew toy, drool.  There are so many parents around who are having sleepless nights because the little ones are grumpy and in pain. My cousin's little boy had everything, high temperature, diarrhoea on top of sleepless nights.  I was mentally preparing for this since November. And we got some grouchy days when we wanted just cuddles and teething gels. Some nights he would wake up nibbling on his blanket... And no teeth in sight!  So imagine my shock when he smiled at me yesterday showing two little teeth on the way out. One happy baby and one super happy mama!  I don't know if this will be always like this ... One can hope!

No time for anything

Image
I have a full time job, it's actually 24 hours a day job... But it is a joy! We are learning many things, grabbing and holding small things, smile and blow bubbles. Also my Milky Boy almost learn to giggle too. he is much bigger now.  What is amazing that I started to remember to eat, well not much but it gets better. And the lack of sleep doesn't bother me much. He sleeps much better, but we still up about 3 times a night. Actually we have some more dramatic news, we are moving back to Wales. Woohooo But it's super hard to pack with 3 month old.... Also my Egg is a lady magnet. We are attending two baby clubs in Bearwood, and in both he got kisses from older ladies. They were like 12 months old!

new thing

Nothing can prepare you for this... No matter how prepared you think you are. Hey I was supposed to have a nice water birth... I thought I was terrible at this to start with. I couldn't calm him down, he wouldn't feed properly I was so stressed out and worried. So my baby blue kicked in. I have never been depressed in my life, down at times, but never like that. Scary.  I am all better now. Happy, provided Sir Poops-a-Lot is not grouchy or even if he is grouchy. He is my amazing baby! It is still very strange to refer to him as "my son" or think of my self as mum. I am trying not to over think about this too much... and the fact that somehow I feel older. Maybe because my only grey hair made an appearance again. Egg is being more active every day. He stopped hating his bouncy chair and we have been to baby massage classes. Got a cute certificate. And have been looking for a baby club/play group to join, more for me I think than for Edgar. So I ...

Just a quick note...

Baby is still in the belly so we are still in anticipation of the big day! yeah, that's one big bump:) Lots of love it's time for my daily nap:)

Last day at work done!

Image
I was actually looking forward to it for a very very long time... Last day at work!! WOOO kind of like day before holidays when you were at school, this super excitement. I am very much looking forward not to deal with idiots, people who ask you obvious and same questions over and over again... Oh wait! I will have a baby, but then these guys do not actually know. But asking about car park charges and why are they so high... You damn ass it is city centre it s actually very reasonable!! And no just because it says check in time 2pm you do not have to arrive by 2pm or else we give away your room... Honestly!! See why sometimes I get grumpy at home because it seems rude to tell people "Just use your brain mate!" and you also cannot be patronising.... Even if you actually know better! My work colleagues made me feel very special! I had a home baked cake. Which was insanely delishious... I mean you really cannot go wrong with chocolate brownie cake in white icing! And loo...

belly

Image
Belly is big. I mean my preggers trousers are like super tight on the bump which is not ideal.... So few other interesting things I have discovered about being pregnant, I can probably write a book about this awesome and terrifying experience.  Even if anyone tells you that pregnancy clothes are cute now.. well they are...they will cost you a fortune so I was determined to stay on low budget as possible. It doesn't however help that everything is tight, and actual clothes that still fit... well some one always who will tell you "oh you know her, well her clothes stretched and she couldn't wear them after the baby".... And then there is of course your loved ones tell you "oh get maternity clothes coz you are so uncomfortable"... And... Yet nothing fits! I'm too short for conventional maternity clothes.... This is a top... A very very ugly top. I mean what on earth are they expecting that short women will not have babies? So I m sticking ...

Names names names...

Image
Me "well that is a bit American, don't you think?" Stephen :" Agr! The baby is half Welsh half Russian! What sort of name you want?" Yeah and that it is. We have few names in mind but we will wait. See what he looks like... We might want to name him one thing but he really wouldn't look like one.  I do think that out mate Owen really looks like Owen, same way Stephen looks like Stephen/Steve However think about your friends and think if they look like their name.... Like my bestie looks like Nick or Nicolas even but he doesn't  look like Kolya (what we call him in Russia) So we have.... as options: Jack, Seth, Chase, Trent.... Nate (if I have my way), Dylan .... But at the moment baby is a Lentil or Raziel Jr if you prefer it.  We are waiting.. and I'm so not obsessing about what would we name Lentil. Can we name him Lentil?
