So we had a “quaranteenie” this means my regular fitness level was reducing. In the end of pregnancy I was massive and getting so tired so anything more than 5k walk...  So it was time. After just about 6 weeks since having baby G. I mean it all depends now the general feeling and am feeling ready for this!  I did three runs to far. Going 1st time was a bit strange some things giggles that didn’t giggle before. And well I went on sunny afternoon and into a park, I tell you what some of people don’t know how to social distance and think that they own paths ... That day I did just over 4km. My muscles were hiring pretty much the same day. But being out for a run it was nice, feeling strong again. More like my self I guess. Even if I don’t run much. It’s nice to able to run again...  My next run was 5km but I am pretty sure the gps glitched and I run more... and I landed on pavement funny... and not funny haha. But it was fine after.  And then I did 7km. I want to run 1...

Surprisingly good

So I did it! I run my 1st 10k this year and as you know from the privious post I was scared.  My little love, child that hates sleep, got up super early. This was not helpful! So I had way too much coffee and got a stitch. Now this is something I haven't had since my very 1st run back in 2010.  The weather was glorious but not good if you are running and trying to do the same time as you did last year, I was busy chasing the 60min pacer.  And on the start I was really worried about my legs. These things didn't want to work well really. Had this pain I have during the warm up. Not something to out you in a good mood for a race.  Then also this chappy started crying as I walked away to join the awesome ladies who run this yesterday. Like tears and that he is never going to see his mama again... Silly boy!  But as I was walking to the start I saw Ruth, from the Running club, who was super pumped and cheered me well up!  So I run! And I run! And splashes my self...

We are all in the know that when it comes to running and races I am a bit crazy... So here is my other crazy, not only I have barely trained before the Mo running race I also was flying with a toddler to middle of Russia...  I have actually participted at the very 1st Welsh Mo Run... It was so small. Like super small. About 300 people or even less. There was only the 10K event. It was nice. I thought I did get the PB at that point. I was just starting out running. But the result didn't reflect that. They actually recounted them after and I was super fast that time.  This year it was massive! So many people. Not like say Cardiff 10K, but so many people! And two distances, amazing! A mate of mine did the 5k and I haven't seen you Luka! It's been too long by the way and you haven't met the Egg man.  Actually this race was made possible by my amazing Mother in Law who was on the Egg watch. And took some of these awesome pictures. Check out these naked m...

Cardiff 10k

One of many things I was looking forward when we were moving back to Cardiff is the tons of races I could do. So back in January I have singed us both for Cardiff 10K that usually takes place around the 1st weekend of September. Yes I am that mad!  Baby was looked after by Owen who was also the watering station for Steve. Never seen anyone drink that much while running the man is like a .... well camel when they do store water in their humps, it is like there will be no liquid ever again.... Funny. But I guess we are different. This was my 3rd Cardiff 10K. 1st one I felt like I am going to die and 2nd one was good. Well this one was just great. However there was a lot of people running... Like a million! and the finishing like surface was... well so freaking lumpy it was hurting my feet. But over all I had a great race day! We both were really pleased about extra special medals they made for 30th anniversary of the race. So cool! Edgar really liked these. ...

Race for life 2015

Image
So the best way to get into it is to run a 10K ... It can be anything, life, sports in my case it is life after long holiday.  This time it was different... I didn't feel pumped days before. I guess I was just preoccupied with Edgar's sleeping patterns that are by the way are all over the place. When I have opened my race pack I was totally in love with temporary tattoos. They are so cute and almost everyone had some if not all of them on! Yes we are the wild bunch! The race for life is always ever so popular... So many lovely ladies in pink and with determined look on their face turn out. Apparently it was about 3 thousands of us on the day.... They did it for both 5 and 10K hens the turn out. Well the 5k normally more popular one, I was gutted to see the amount of people for the 5K v 10K.  Well race for life is not about the result... it is about the turn out, awareness and girl power. You can run it, jog it or walk it. It is good fun! This race i...

Sunday - race day!

Image
Stephen said to Edgar while pushing his pram to the park to the start "yes, Egg, that's what she does... And fairly regularly!" I guess Egg will be my biggest supporter.  This Sunday I did the Women's Running 10k. And it was awesome! Really nice route, even if we had to do the 2 loops. Pacers did the amazing job so did the marshals clapping and cheering the runners.  And I had such a great time that I didn't realised that I smashed my personal best and got this result! Steve and Dickie are fascinated that I must be super annoyed at these 47 milliseconds... Oh well but it is just barely over and hour when I expected to finish in a hour and 2 or even 3 minutes! It was a pleasant surprise!  And as we know race day doesn't finish at the finish line. Oh by the way check out how awesome the goody bag is!  And the medal is extra lovely too with back engraved with date and place of the race!! I do think that I actually managed to...

run run run!

Being a mama is amazing and super exhausting.... and you seem to lose your identity sometime. And I did struggle with it, I still do in a way. But now it doesn't bother me... Anyway. I found when I go for a run my brain switches off and I don't freak or stress or over-think... Basically I need to have a run as often as possible or join the gym. But hey my other half works shifts and I have no one to watch little man... So I need another plan. I popped over to Nike shop in St David's 2, these guys do running club 3 times a week. And best thing it is free!  I was meant to go Monday but that didn't happen, someone had a little accident and it took a long time to sort out so by the time I was meant to get ready and go all I wanted is to sit down. But I did go on Wednesday.... It was like a crazy training session, with sprints that I cannot do at all. Warm up however was super easy for me, we even did superman... It was super easy for me, maybe coz I actually do...

Bupa run... My first half marathon done! And I got a T-shirt :)

So it was a very implosive race entry... I walked pass the ad for Bupa Great Birmingham run way too many times and though "Oh why da hell not!"... But when I got the number through the post and all the bits and bobs I thought "Oh what have I done! Silly silly Daria" But actually it was not that bad after all. I did talk to the organizers, elite athletes and other crazy people who are running for fun. That's actually a perk working in hospitality industry... We all were very concerned about the weather... When I got up at 6am to have breakkie it was peeing it down. I though that I needed a wet suit to run in. But the sky cleared and the sun was shining... we were actually boiling. Well I was... also that dude who run in the Iron Man outfit. Yes, full on Iron Man... yes, that dude in red and yellow... The organisation was amazing, lots and lots of support, signs, water stations, even a shower, power station (jelly babies and vaseline) and a l...
