Pottery

A while ago my friend and former work colleague said that she has been to a pottery class in my local coffee shop.  I though I never did ceramics I would love to have a go... I made a little house-tea light holder. It is wonky. And I really found it challenging. I had to only concentrate on task at hand, it required lost of procedures and well I didn’t enjoy it. So naturally I though I must do this again!  And sure enough this year the new course was announced and I’m stranding some of the classes.  Couple of weeks ago the theme was animals. And you know free building was more enjoyable. Or maybe it is because I leaned to be more in the moment and concentrate on just one thing, making this animal.  Yesterday we were making candles holders... it was a bit different story....  These three guys were made using different techniques and well it was super interring to learn how to and what are the differences. I found the building several from several pieces is harder...

I was very much looking forward to this week, this week I had shows to see.  Guilty feminist tickets were my birthday present last year! And hubby did good Look how close we were!  We sang, we “orgasmed” (you had to be there really) we also found out about local poet, and two amazing organisations for women. And we realised that Bristol feminists came out in force. And most of all we laughed so much! I think might have peed a little.  Also I am regretting not going to see Grace Petrie when she was playing a tiny venue in Cardiff. But I shall not make that mistake again!  Next day I went to see Scummy Mummies. These tickets I just had to get. I saw them last year with mother in law and it was very very good fun!  But this year I took a mummy friend from school. And we agreed that faces were hurting from laughting so much. I loved the new material! And that song if Cbbies were for adults ...  And extra bonus I discovered that Scummy ...

RHS Flower Show 2018

Image
You know the summer is not far away when Royal Horticultural Society is in town. It was our 3rd time as well so all and all it was supposed to be a great day.  The grey sky soon cleared out and it was like a different day all together.  All the wonderful displays were perfectly on trend. You are aware that everyone is loving mossier plants now and begonias are very much in vogue! Especially spotted ones.  I think they went with less plastic theme too. All the nurseries and schools wheelbarrows were with that theme in mind and a lot of recycled flower arrangements and installations can be seen aroud the grounds.  The day in my home started silly early. Big guy refused to go back to sleep after about 4am. So he had a little nap so we could see things in peace.  Taking a spirited (grumpy and stubborn) child to flower show can be challenging but there was ice cream and lovely chips. We didn’t make it to kids area it was a bit disappointing actually..  But consi...

Sunny day out. RHS flower show

This post is mainly picture. ... we were at the flower show in Bute Park in Cardiff. Here is what we saw and enjoyed looking at.                   The RHS makes a lovely day out. Weather was glorious, flowers were fragrant, what more can you wish on your weekend in April.  They also have good few kiddie activities. We're we're even newly hatched chicks for little ones to look at, story time... If you think they only have flowers and garden stuff you are mistaken, there is also a food quarter and bunch of craft stalls. We will be going again next year! Will you?

It is much harder to find time to go out.... Well also find friends who are free during the day... And one does need a grown ups to talk to every so often so I won't go a bit bananas. Well more then usual. This time we went for lunch with Rhian.  She told us all about her visit to Harry Potter land... I really want to go myself and take mini me but do not think he will appreciated yet... But as Rhian nice put "if you raise him well he will love Harry Potter"...  Nicely said! But I think I might need to wait till he is a bit older. Oh and food wise we been to Madame Fromage where I of course had ton of cheese and in Artigiano for some "mama's little helper". Both places are wonderful with great stuff and staff!!  Also I do think my child at his tender age been put more often than I have in my 1st 10 years of my life!
