Today is a very special day

It is my mommy's birthday!!

Happy birthday the most amazing mother in the world!

Even if you have given me your mad hair!

Love you loads

this weekend in Wales

Well we finally made it to Wales, for an amazing Six Nations. What a game. Cardiff was buzzing more then usual. Weather was horrid but people were so happy and excited...
And then Wales won....
The whole pub we were in exploded with excitement and joy!

It has been a while since we both had a match day off... People were everywhere...

There were queues to get to the pubs... not a very nice pubs either, everyone just wanted to celebrate Wales' victory....

Next day we woke up to this picture...

Spot the Welshman!

Well done Wales!! It was a great weekend!

Owen came to visit...

Well we were going to go to take a tour bus and have some lovely lady or a gentleman tell us all about Bath and lime stones and Jane Austin... They love telling about Jane Austin. That reminds me must read some:)

But if were anywhere in UK today you know it was certainly not an open top bus weather. Such rain! So we went to Roman Baths instead!

Always fun to learn things... Well we have been here before, but some things were missed last time. Although rain made the experience extra moist!

I do like the idea that the head on the temple is a mix between Minerva, having a bath and Gorgon... and surprisingly a man!

Romans could build pretty with beautiful mosaic.

Do not really remember who these dudes are but they are just so cool!

Shimmering coins. Perhaps wishes to goddess Minerva... Oh yeah did you know that Romans used to leave written curses so the goddess will resolve the issue, usually punish someone. It is your fun fact of the day:)

We had a fabulous time in Baths.
Later boys went on adventure to look for shops with innuendo names, like Sausage shop. Owen had a pictures of all the sings and I went to work.
It was a fun day!

Lazy day...

I have spent so much time a lot of time in book shops today... Do not have to buy anything but I love browsing throw titles... touching books...

I did get Alex James' book... very much looking forward to it. Oh if only I could just spend hours and hours reading!

And this is just shoe porn... Jimmy! Choo! Ah!!

And I went to look into other things too....

Shoes... with Peter Pan Collars on them...

Antique rocking horse...

and then I got cold and I went home... I wore these ears. Aren't they just the cutest thing ever?

Sea food linguine

I love food. I love cooking but I have to be in the right mood for it. Or you know, hungry with stuff in the fridge. So if you read the last post you saw the picture of my last dinner adventure

Seafood, leeks, garlic and linguine... oh and cream!
Pretty much it actually, you just cook the pasta, while its cooking, chop up the leek, garlic clove. Sweat them off in the deep pan still soft. I used store bought cooked seafood (prawns, mussels, squid). Add it to the leeks and garlic, warm it up... add cream. In some crazy skinny madness I got single cream and it did not work that well, but still did the trick in binding all of this loveliness together.
Toss pasta into the pan.
Do not put any cheese in, do not be mad! Seafood and cheese do not mix... do not know why, but it is just bad taste!
I did put lots of freshly grated black pepper on.

Feel Good..

Lately have have not been happy normal self, I felt very useless and slightly depressed... I was in need of cheering up and do something that would make happy.
So these things are... Fun films, I recently watched Pitch Perfect

It made me really happy. For more details about this fun filled film you can see on my joint blog with Owen My Favorite Film
Straight after I watched Easy A

and House Bunny

with lovely Emma Stone and Anna Faris... I just couldn't stop smiling.

But then I felt down again... So I baked and cooked

And watch Sailor Moon... Oh how these girls make me happy!

But it has to be subbed not dubbed.
These are the things that make me relax and happy again.

Making Stuff...Old lippy to tinted lip balm

I was tidying my makeup bag... the lovely yellow and black Luella make up bag by the way:)

And I found some unused lipsticks... Sometime you think colour would be great on you, or some one gives you one, so I had quiet few of these. It is such a shame just to throw them away, waste! So I thought to make a colour I might actually like.
It is very simple! I referred to Queen of Crafts book

Great book by the way, very inspirational with a lot of useful information. Not like some of the crafts book that just look great, but have no use. I actually find my self referring to it every now and then, Jazz Domino Holly is one expert crafter and you of course can get this book on Amazon

So what I did:
-few old (unused and unloved in my case) lippies
-vaseline (we been gifted a massive tab some time ago)
-heat proof bowl
-pan with hot/boiling water

The heat from the water will warm up the bowl where I placed cuts off of dull brown shade lippy and some shiny scarlet colour one, couple of generous size dollops of vaseline; all the ingiridients will blend nicely together. Pour the liquid into a container, wait till it sets and enjoy!

This is the final product due to amount of vaseline in it is more like a tinted balm.
But you can always just use lipstick colours. Also you can add a drop of essential oil to give nice fragrance, or even edible glitter for extra sparkle.
And of course the little pot can be fancier, I just used some stuck on traveling jars I picked up for Boots ages ago. I am actually planning to make other shades to fill the rest of jars.
I love love making stuff!

Trip to V&A

I had a London trip again last week this time to get visa for little one to go to Russia. So I thought must combine the business and pleas...
