Very Small Feet

2013 was really eventful for us and a very busy year... we moved 2 times and not just around one city but we moved from Cardiff to Bath and then from Bath to Birmingham. And at the moment we are on the look out for a new place, not in another city thanks god! We had a lovely family Christmas, Steve cooked I provided the entertainment by falling asleep, chasing the pets around and doing dishes.  We actually had a Christmas part II just this week when we went to see the family in Wales. Great time was had:) lots of food and laughs... actually I think I worked my abs coz I was laughing that much!! Wish all the holidays were like this. I have only few goals for this year... Stay healthy, run another half marathon and just be happy. I know that sounds a bit hippy-ish but hey I can do amazing things when I put my head to it! think this picture is an excellent example of "when I put my head to it". Well this post will be about crafting mainly....  My work had a staff party on Monday, the theme was Casino Royal... hens boys dressed in suits and girls in pretty dresses.  I really did not feel like going to getting a new dress, besides what would be the odds to come in to the party and some one else has the same dress. I would have been mortified. So I thought I'd wear a suit. Hubby said "NO woman wear a dress!" friend Viera said "But you have so many beautiful vintage dresses"... Oh yes, I do have tons of unique vintage pieces obtained on ebay. But I don't fit in most of them... or so I though...  I got this lilac beauty by accident.. well it's ebay it happens! But I could never zip it up. And for 2 years it just stayed in the wardrobe... The belt and hem need fixing and I just need an occasion to wear it to!  But for this even I needed something less romantic...  I bought an emerald green strapless dress... it was f...

I think it is a well deserved holiday! Especially considering that I had 9 days of work in a row with 3 split shifts... very draining! But hey I made most of my time... by doing as little as I can..  So the highlights were... My friend Charlotte needed models for her portfolio... Yes it is that serious!  So far she published these  It was a bit surreal... she did not like me pulling faces! It is so hard not to stick the toungue out to the camera. But she was truly great, told me lots of times that I'm doing great and how beautiful I was.. Oh you!!  So, Charl, I am so excited to see the rest of the pictures. We also drunk wine, talked tattoos, films and men!  Couple of days ago I was waiting for hubby to come home from work so... I did some cross stitching... because of the size of this reindeer my hands were hurting so much...  But it is super cute... and a start of Christmas project.....

When I was little mum use to knit a lot of my clothes, I was head to toe in knitted goodies. People even used to joke that she knitted me too... Later she decided that knitting was boring and stopped... now she's crocheting like crazy. She made us a beautiful blanket to cover the bed... the only problem with it is the bright yellow colour... I never liked knitting, takes too long and looks so complicated, however I always wanted to learn... So I choose easier way of making something from yarn... crocheting! Last time I was off I made this blanket for us Hubby has some reservations against it... looks too much like a "Granny". Well yeah, it's a giant granny square! And it couldn't be easier to make!  This pattern is stolen  from here  but mother taught me how!  And now I finally finished the baby boy blanket... it took me so long to make, but it was so easy in the end when I got into my crocheting zone... I actually need to be in...

Remember how after my last race I was going to do lots of things, make stuff, tidy the flay and watch films... My plans were so exciting!  Well another epic fail!  Somehow that days just went away from me.  Me and my friend Owen went to the cinema and beer after.... We saw Lawless... Well he saw it again and me for the 1st time. Before you watch the trailer got to tell you its a bit... well graphic! It is a very very good film... But I don't think I will be watching it again. Too real! I like to think that the world is full of rainbows and unicorns! This was too real... It's like film with Casey Affleck (coincidently my favourite Affleck brother) Killer inside me. It is a very very good film but too graphic and too real.  Both of the films a must see... but just be prepared...  So after this I did not do much...  I was going to make a make-up bag for Dessy so she can stop walking around wit...

My hubby was out all day helping our friends Dickie and Karly moving house. I was stuck at home since I wasn't very well past few day... But  this blog  was super inspirational... So next thing I know I did this...  And then... I got the felt, made paper pattern and start hand stitching year and fox's face.... Dusted off my sewing machine and completed Mrs Fox! She us now living in Dicky and Karly's new place! I was actually sad to see her go. It was very quick.... finishing stitching the head and body together... skyping with mother. She said I should give Mrs Fox to her.... and then Dickie brought hubby back, fox was gifted and Dickie left.... Bye-bye Mrs Fox, you should look after Dickie and Karly now! Well she did make super cute intragram picture...

Well here we go... things I have made.... excuse the quality... I should really take a course in photoshop... and get a better camera... Hint hint hubby!!  I always enjoyed drawing still life... fruits, flowers...   No idea what this is... but colours are really pretty.... One my friends suggested that this is an embryo and I must be pregnant...well this was about 3 years ago and no babies yet.  This came out after watching some Olympic events... gymnastics mainly:) and back to still life....  this is a boyfriend... made for hubby. Now little guy lives next to TV he has a girlfriend but she didn't come out as well ... I didn't have enough felt fabric. This lives in my mothers house. Sunflowers were made for her as a present for women's day. Yes, we Russians do celebrate it and it's a bank holiday. Guess the flower? ... No seriously guess!
