Race day with husband

Image
I think I had few posts titled race day. Oh gosh I have done lots of these in sunny Welsh capital. Some were very good and others were a bit poo but as a rule I would come home happy, excited and with new bling for my medal hanger! It’s from Etsy of course! Cardiff 10k was the 1st “grown up” race I did. Before Cardiff 10k 2011 I was just running easy and relaxed race for life where all women claded in pink would walk, run, jog... well actually this is no more as my hubby did the inaugural race for life for everyone!  The excellent thing about Cardiff 10k is that it is super flat, usually very well organised... however were was one year when there was no water station. And it gets better and better!  Last time I did it in 2015 with husband who spend a lot of time on treadmill but not actually outside... and well he was slow and hated every minute of it.  When I took him for a run once I quickly realised that these long legs of his can be very fast and his stubbornness will...

Cardiff 10k

One of many things I was looking forward when we were moving back to Cardiff is the tons of races I could do. So back in January I have singed us both for Cardiff 10K that usually takes place around the 1st weekend of September. Yes I am that mad!  Baby was looked after by Owen who was also the watering station for Steve. Never seen anyone drink that much while running the man is like a .... well camel when they do store water in their humps, it is like there will be no liquid ever again.... Funny. But I guess we are different. This was my 3rd Cardiff 10K. 1st one I felt like I am going to die and 2nd one was good. Well this one was just great. However there was a lot of people running... Like a million! and the finishing like surface was... well so freaking lumpy it was hurting my feet. But over all I had a great race day! We both were really pleased about extra special medals they made for 30th anniversary of the race. So cool! Edgar really liked these. ...

Longest week ever...

Image
And not the greatest week either... I was so busy with everything... Went to London in the beginning to the week to drop off the documents at the Embassy for a new passport. Stress.... But to be honest the lady I dealt with was lovely, well my name will be misspelled in the new passport (bloody auto translation) I went for sushi and met Natasha:) This was very nice! Then it was work work work!!!! We have no staff... or we do but they do not show for the shifts... well I do not really care I just want to have bodies to work.... I miss my Cardiff ladies... To top everything we had to go to Emergency to have a new x-ray for Hubby's arm...It hasn't actually heal properly  but we have been told to chill for a week and not to lift anything really. Ice and keep it raised to take the swelling off... And the day later one of out little rats passed away.... I do not think I would want more rats... ...

After Dan left the pub...

So there is this pub in Cardiff on Cathedral road in Pontcanna... I used to tell guests in the hotel to go for food there. Our mate Dan was a head chef and everything was so amazing! So many beautiful meals there... Gastro pub at its best with an amazing Sunday roast... We even went there after we got hitched But then Dan moved on.... and the food became not that good. I hope they have found someone to bring the magic into their kitchen, but we have been looking for a new Sunday roast place for a while now. We went to many places in Cardiff to find a place... well that is if we had a Sunday off. One of the joys of working in hospitality industry. When you do eventually get a weekend off you do know what to do with your self...  So after moving to Bath we had some time off... so following the advice of Sarah we went to Aqua . If you are ever in Bath go to Aqua....I was so happy after leaving the place! Food was great... Attentive Staff.... We ...

We actually got to spend some time together...

Well we were supposed to have this week together but at the very last moment hubby's second week holiday been cancelled.... But we went to eat some lovely Japanese food in Ichiban... by the way it is one amazing Japanese restaurant on Cowbridge Road in Cardiff!  I had some dead cold delicious fish and we shared some sake... Mad! It was a lovely evening! Well and it was raining loads!! We had that awesome Sunday lunch together, then we saw Felix do that jump! Then we went to see super tall and funny man Greg Davies. Back of his mum's head was very funny, unless you are a bonsai tree (go see it, he is funny!!)!  I can say that he is my favorite comedian at the moment!  And all I want is the picture next to him... Him being all tall and me being... well super short!! It would be so funny! My friend Andrew actually met the guy and says he is super nice. We also tried to shop for a suit... luckily he went with other boys from wo...
