Snoopies

Image
School holidays for us are usually intense. No school no structure can be a little challenging. But it is always changing, and never the same. But work this time was also intense!  So we walked a lot!  We searched for Snoopies! They were joyous ones we met. Egg liked high-fiving them and giving them a boop on the nose. I enjoyed taking the pictures of amazing work of the varieties of artists. They also made me think of snow dogs we had a while back think about 6 years ago. So Egg was a same age as Gray now. Awww  But what makes me sad it that now they are fenced off or removed all together due to vandalism…  Who are these people who want to attack Snoopy?! And why?! Would this be the young folks who after lockdown cannot cope? Should we be paying more attention and give them care they need?  But then who were people who prepared for and vandalised Bute park? …. Anyway I digress and… it’s a about art. And fun.  Well I do hope we will have more of these trail...

RHS Flower Show 2018

Image
You know the summer is not far away when Royal Horticultural Society is in town. It was our 3rd time as well so all and all it was supposed to be a great day.  The grey sky soon cleared out and it was like a different day all together.  All the wonderful displays were perfectly on trend. You are aware that everyone is loving mossier plants now and begonias are very much in vogue! Especially spotted ones.  I think they went with less plastic theme too. All the nurseries and schools wheelbarrows were with that theme in mind and a lot of recycled flower arrangements and installations can be seen aroud the grounds.  The day in my home started silly early. Big guy refused to go back to sleep after about 4am. So he had a little nap so we could see things in peace.  Taking a spirited (grumpy and stubborn) child to flower show can be challenging but there was ice cream and lovely chips. We didn’t make it to kids area it was a bit disappointing actually..  But consi...

On the wonder

I do enjoy wonder around town and find these hidden jems... some more hidden than other.  This little daft and orchid are tucked away in riverside! Who would have know.

Food festival with toddler

I love summer time festivals in Cardiff. Used to look forward when tourist information office would dropped off the booklets for summer festivals in the city. And my favourite by far is the food festivals in the bay. Last year we were really lucky to go on he day when Welsh football team were coming home. Town was super busy and t was nice a peaceful in the bay. So baring this in mind I have decided to pick up my mother in law and the child and we went down on Friday afternoon.  But the child decided not to nap.. I hate when he refuses to nap. He was tired and grumpy... and very loud in his complaint about the situation he had created him self...  We couldn't stay at any stalls for too long, or one of us would nose around while the other would push the pram around.  We gave in in the end. He was happy running about and jumping off things but then wanted to be carried around. Damn this child is thin but sooo heavy!  Pretty much only time he was happy was when he mount...

Sunny day out. RHS flower show

Image
This post is mainly picture. ... we were at the flower show in Bute Park in Cardiff. Here is what we saw and enjoyed looking at.                   The RHS makes a lovely day out. Weather was glorious, flowers were fragrant, what more can you wish on your weekend in April.  They also have good few kiddie activities. We're we're even newly hatched chicks for little ones to look at, story time... If you think they only have flowers and garden stuff you are mistaken, there is also a food quarter and bunch of craft stalls. We will be going again next year! Will you?

Everything will be alright

Image
Everything will be alright in the end. If it is not alright then it is not the end...  Last Saturday I had my last lobster roll and Eggy had his last bounce around the bankettes and 1st burger. One of the funnest restaurant's of Cardiff Burger and Lonster closed its doors.  You hear of people being made redunded  and places closing but you never think it will happened to you...  My thoughts are with awesome staff of the restaurant. You guys will be fine. I know it seems a bit too much at the moment, but everything will be alright. You just have to believe in this!  Just putting this out there and hoping this will generate some positive wibes ❤️

New pretty finds

Cardiff became more interesting after we have came back. More fun shops, more indi businesses, and even more street art. I think since the rugby world cup in 2015 they allowed to draw legally on the wall next to Arms Park and Millennium stadium. And it is beautiful!  Fantastic, aren't they!

Body remembers

We are all in the know that when it comes to running and races I am a bit crazy... So here is my other crazy, not only I have barely trained before the Mo running race I also was flying with a toddler to middle of Russia...  I have actually participted at the very 1st Welsh Mo Run... It was so small. Like super small. About 300 people or even less. There was only the 10K event. It was nice. I thought I did get the PB at that point. I was just starting out running. But the result didn't reflect that. They actually recounted them after and I was super fast that time.  This year it was massive! So many people. Not like say Cardiff 10K, but so many people! And two distances, amazing! A mate of mine did the 5k and I haven't seen you Luka! It's been too long by the way and you haven't met the Egg man.  Actually this race was made possible by my amazing Mother in Law who was on the Egg watch. And took some of these awesome pictures. Check out these naked m...

Things we saw...

When we wondered to Roath to feed the pigs. These aren't actual pig but guinea pigs:) So as you can see Cardiff is a wonderful diverse city!  Also piggies were so grateful that I fed them they went out and got me a bottle of red wine!

Sunday Fun Day!

Image
Hubby told me about this "food fair" at Chapter Art Centre . And being super busy as per usual I totally forgot about this... Imagine my surprise when I got the text "bunch of little stalls you would love it! Oh and can you bring an apron"... The event was called the Art Car Bootique to celebrate 100 years of WI. Amazing!! So off we went to the Chapter. We lived in Canton and Riverside for years, yet I never been to Chapter. Fail on my part I think, looks like an amazing place. There were soo many people about. Great atmosphere, people, puppies, prams and baby carriers everywhere. I so wish Edgar would still be small enough to be carried around. But we had a cuddle and wonder in the arms so he could look around properly.  And thing we saw! Lots of stalls and people! Handmade and unique things! People making art by cycling! Swan trailer... (sort of, not sure what to name this)! Lots of Vintage! We saw an awesome drum band! Our favourite E...

run run run!

Image
Being a mama is amazing and super exhausting.... and you seem to lose your identity sometime. And I did struggle with it, I still do in a way. But now it doesn't bother me... Anyway. I found when I go for a run my brain switches off and I don't freak or stress or over-think... Basically I need to have a run as often as possible or join the gym. But hey my other half works shifts and I have no one to watch little man... So I need another plan. I popped over to Nike shop in St David's 2, these guys do running club 3 times a week. And best thing it is free!  I was meant to go Monday but that didn't happen, someone had a little accident and it took a long time to sort out so by the time I was meant to get ready and go all I wanted is to sit down. But I did go on Wednesday.... It was like a crazy training session, with sprints that I cannot do at all. Warm up however was super easy for me, we even did superman... It was super easy for me, maybe coz I actually do...

Sunny day out

Don't you just love this gorgeous sunshine we have this week! So wonderful! Me and little man spend so little time at home, always in the park or meeting friend or just waking around enjoying vitamin D. Well me more then him. We caught up with Rhian. Went for afternoon tea at Pettirgrew Tearoom  to start with. And what a lovely, they even offer scones with fruit or without.                           Gorgeous home-made cakes, beautiful sandwiches and the cutest vintage china... Just so good... and in the sun in the Bute Park. I love this about Cardiff, you get this nature on your doorstep and in the city centre. Also so some sort of bird muching a fish out of the river... and yes once again in the city centre. Also check out these beautiful photos Rhian took of little man and me....  I love the sunshine!!
