Things I Saw On My Run

Image
Races are always special!  Things you see are so inspiring and fun. After all these runners are as crazy as me! Here is what I saw: ...3000 me included doing Usain Bolt's lighting... ....a man running next to his partner to hi-five her while she was running... ....a man running with the pram...in the beginning he almost crushed it into a wall...Hubby said that he finished in under 40min and the baby was sleeping! ....a toy story... I bet the guy who was dressed as Buzz was so hot! Apparently there was also a gorilla runner, who finished way before me! ... and I also saw 3-4 men with no tops on... Today is day two after the race... My abs are sore, my legs are hurting and the back is also not in the best shape. And now I'm off to the gym!

What did you do today? Well I ran 10K!!

I did it!! Don't know the official time but it was not too good. My last 10K I did in 63min, this one looks like same time as last year 66 mins and a bit. Well but I do not want to die after it.... It was a very hard road race... My knees are bit funny right now. The sun was out and it got hot on the 5km. Runners are amazing people! Supporters were great too, well I guess it was 3000 runners and most of us have a least one person to cheer for us. I had with me 4 people and a dog! Lovely Claire-bear and Jess with sausage dog Ruby came over to cheer for me and Annalie! Dessy popped over before work to take picture of me in with my running number on... And she said that she only wants pretty pictures of me, not the sweaty ones! She makes me laugh every time! Darling you are a very special friend! Runner couple were hi-fiving next to every kilometre. It was so cute! They look proud of being a part of a race and challenging themselves. ...

summer of sport..

Well as we all know its Olympics time! Everything is very exciting... Here in Cardiff we only got bits of football both girls and boys.  But it's a very special atmosphere... and super busy at work.  I also singed up for the next race... it will be another 10k, despite what my friend Nora says I do not feel fit enough to do half marathon. A girl from work doing it too... but she is like super fit, don't think I will be able to outrun her.  Husband finally agreed do go for a run with me. We will be doing 10k together for Movember.  Well after our run around the park we have discovered that he cannot pace (well it took me almost a year to learn to pace myself) and that he is rather unfit. But training together we can do it!!  Wonder how his legs are feeling today, he was complaining all day yesterday!:) But it was really good to run with him, I'm sure together we can train better and do a marathon! .. one day Speaking of...

Sea Of Pink!

Nothing makes a girl feel more empowered then do the race for life (yes yes I sound a bit like crazy person)... well its kind of my thing. That's how I got the running bug too!!  As you know I did the 10K this Saturday... Weather was terrible! There were lots of ladies in pink, kiddies in pink, husbands in pink and even some dogs were dressed in tutus. I thought the dogs looked adorable but husband said that Alsatian in tutu and with feathered pink boa is degrading and taking away animal's dignity... Oh if only I could I would dress up out bunny Daisy and rats too! We didn't start till 20min past start time... and we all were soaked. It was raining.... grass was slippery... danger everywhere! Organisation didn't impress really... It was very upsetting. But there were happy cheery supporters with banners and tiny runners were trying to keep up with the girls! Well...I did it! and actually managed to do it in one hour ...

Husband says I am unbearable on the race day.... Well race day is tomorrow and I'm like bouncy lunatic already! I still need to prepare pins for sings water and get a snickers bar for after... Don't think I will manage a PB but I am really looking forward to it!  Don't forget to donate a bit of cash for a good cause!

oh my!

I cannot believe I have a race tomorrow... First one of the year! but I didn't train! The night shifts killed me... So I might die... please tell my hubby I love him and to feed Daisy the bunny once a day :) Will report back tomorrow
