Last weekend

Image
So last weekend was not only special that I went out on Friday night but also that we had Egg at grandparents so we were free to do why we wanted...  with no routine, bedtime ...  Strange feeling. Usually when baba is away Steve is working, and never have experienced the child free time.  We started out time alone by shouting insults at each other. It’s was very dirty ones! Sort of got it out of the system and didn’t need to hold the toungue until bedtime. So funny, and I kept it up for a kind time.  We did a bit of a tidy, sorted the abundance of t-shirts. Now I need to take them to H&M to recycle and to charity shop.  Next day we went to the cinema, shopping and watched rugby with take out. We even went to Jacob’s Antiques which is impossible with the small active child! But I was feeling like something was missing. My baby wasn’t home. And for the 1st time I really missed him. It is true that you are never alone once you have a child and sometimes when yo...

Too much of the good thing

Well it was too good... just too good.. For about a month the little one sleeps through the night and if he does wake up then only for a second.  And he wakes up about 6.30am and sometime even 7.30... and few days ago he got up at 8.30am!  I thought we conquered the sleep thing... or did we? On Friday we went for a long walk in the Bute Park. But we didn't take a usual route we went by the river, there is small foot path there. So Egg could just run ahead of us and be actually totally safe, no bikes around.   Here he is looking for big stones.  We got home a bit later then dinner time and pretty much since 5pm until bath at 6.30pm he didn't stop eating and grazing.  And the next day he was up at 5am... and was up a lot at night. We got him over tired and over fed.  I thought it was a one off. I hope it's one off.  Today he woke up at 5min to 5. This is progress right?  But I am exhausted. There is always so much to do when you are stay at home par...

I love sleep!

Yesterday was good. Child had a fab morning with dada, I managed to do some studying. Then tot had a nap and picked on his dinner which was abit is downer  (guess he is still not 100% and still has that virus) but bed time was great. Fun in the bath, didn't fight with pijamas, I read him a story while he was sorting out his bedding... great day. I went to bed early in case he would get up again at 5am like he has been doing for past 5 days or so...  .....    I think this photo sums it up. He got up at 2.30am and that was that. I have tired everything ... more milk, teething gel, cuddles, take him to our bed...even woke husband up to help.... at 4.45am in the end he went to look into the gloomy night from his bedroom window so I hid in our bedroom while listening to him cooing and complaining until 5.30am I am in a very shitty mood. I love sleep. I need to sleep to function well. I blamed the kid for being mean to me and I had for a brief moment questioned our decisio...

The sun is awake

Image
I love summer. Sunshine, long days, warmth....  But when your child gets the attitude of r the sun is awake so I am awake. It is a killer. Why child why? Couple of days ago he got up really early and didn't want to go back to sleep. So I bundled him up and we went to sleep in the spare room. We slept till 7.30 and it was the whole hour longer to usual wake up time.  But he was snoozing next to me. This isn't something we want to do again. Yesterday he got up and grouched. And grouched. So I did the same. I am weak! And my little munchkin has a cold and therefore a bit poorly.  Yes I know I am trying to justify breaking the routine.... Bad parent good mama! I think we need to get different curtains and duvet for him. Hey won't hurt right?  Today we are up since 5.30am... I am back in being a Mombie!
