Happy mail. Dovetailed London

Image
Just over a week ago post man dropped off the box for me… full of wonder and inspiration.  As you might already know I have rediscovered my love for sewing. I missed it actually and I found is so incredibly satisfying when garment comes together. And so relaxing quiet down time making things with my hands.  And as you also might know I love a happy mail in a form of subscription box.  I was totally influenced by listening to Uncut podcast for makers about the African wax print fabrics and that Ankara appreciation week was coming up it makes my Instagram feed so very colourful and happy… and £25 sounded really good for one meter and two neater fabric, matching thread some lovely sewing things and a sweet treat.   I opened it and a big smile appeared on my face. Just look at these prints! So bold bright and somehow life affirming so fabric and sewing g supplies made feel this way who knew! The clips I was thinking of getting anyway. Matching thread is always handy...

Subscription box review. Boxcitement

Image
If you are a friend and a reader you know that I love a subscription box. Like a lot! There have been good few I have already tired and wrote about and so here is a new one in series: Daria loves a subscription box. I don’t know if you seen the Boxcitement advert, basically it’s what it’s portmanteaus implies, a lovely gifts in a box via your postbox. Jewellery, stationary and suprises is what the website promises.  The Ausgust edition which I got is also donating money to marine conservation society. And after entering a code I will be getting a special mystery box.  So here it is! The packaging is cute and postbox friendly, so no trip to neighbors or post Office Depot!...  a little touch that what is in the box is actually hidden and there is a very cute illustration. Definitely pleasnet surprises and well thought about and executed!  However the content is a bit ... well alright I guess. I liked the note cards with different ...

Glossy box. What I thought...

Image
Few weeks ago I felt a bit burnt out. I am doing very thing for everyone and not much for my self.  I felt angry and sad and super tired. I am actually a bit tired.  So I have signed up for Glossy Box to cheer my self up. I looked into other boxes for months... like a Japanese snacks, or one from awesome mama entrepreneur. But the postage from US is well... so unnecessary expensive!  Then I look at Boxciment and a healthy food/snack...  But somehow I just ended up with Glossy for 3 month.  Well it arrived! And I loved it!  It had hair treatment, sponge thingy, brow gel, lip liner,  antibacterial wipes and a bubbling sheet mask. Box’s theme is back to school, so it makes sense.  So it really fits into my coming out of the rut promise to my self. I have tired to use most of the products. The lip liner is a bit too much and I never used one but I will give it a go. I actually just put it all over my lips and lip balm on top, it ...

Ichiko Bento box. Review

As you know I am a big fan of subscription box. I would try them all if I could! Well I am actually working on it!  Well this one is about Japanese consmetics and I have been eyeing it for a while. So about 3 months ago I have signed up for three months. And was very excited when I got log in and such for website. Very professional looking very similar to Birchbox actually.  From what I can understand its a small enterprise and I got to say I am very pleased with packaging. Looks like it been put together with great care and attention to detail.  However it took 3 months for the 1st box to arrive. And when I tried to contact them I simply couldn’t find the link or details on the website. So I have cancelled after 2,5 months as it renews automatically with a message that I didn’t get anything and would like a refund or the stuff. Once again I didn’t hear anything back and then suddenly few weeks later the box arrived. No explanation no note or email... there is nothing I h...

Loot Crate. Box Subscribtion

Image
I am married to a geek. And it is contagious. Also it is awesome! We watch Star Trek (not just the new shiny films with Chris Pine) Buffy  (coz she is the best) Flash and many other amazing things. So it was only natural that we got the Loot Crate. Actually we got two of them due to confusion with actual subscription thing. Mainly of course I got Loot Crate for hubby dearest... and he hated it. Well I guess hate is a strong word. He didn't like it. The theme was Speed. So now we have Cylone ship.... which no one in our household cares about, an Arrow car ornament  (I thought the idea was fun, but it is Arrow) the only things that got appreciated in out household was the bat-mobile key ring and the little replica of car Eleanor from gone in 60 seconds... by the little man. Personally I still think it is a great concept but there is so much of Geekery out where, if I would pay more attention and the website wasn't too confusing ... we would have...

Buddy Box

Image
As you know I love a subscription box . It's like a present or a unexpected surprise every month, even if I know it is coming you never know what would be in it or when it will actually make an appearance. I was very sad to cancel the My Little Box , it is truly great, but I have bits of cosmetics and little other delights coming out of my ears, so we thought we try some stuff out...  First of my list, just for me, was a "hug in the box" Buddy box .  It is a very nice concept. Little things to make you happy and fuzzy inside and promote mindfulness.  (oh I totally love this "rooting for you" pin, it's on my winter coat) And you know in a way it made me very happy and fuzzy inside. I do not have a depression but I have the down days ... that I can't really express since I have a tiny human depending on me so I carry on no matter how much I just want to stay in bed.  After getting this box in September I started drinking more...
