Quick diy. Weekend project

Image
I am a coffee drinker. A while back I started using a French press for my coffee so I will not drink coffee all day long.  Cleaning French press is annoying. And seems like a lot of waste. Can you repurpose the grains?  Or better yet what do you do when you buy truly awful coffee and can't drink it?  I made a body scrub!  And it was easy!  I used just three ingredients but you can use more.  I used coffee that to horrid to drink, but next time will use the used coffee, sugar and coconut oil. The latter you might think is expensive but I got my organic from home bargains for like £2.50 for a big jar!  I combined coffee and sugar in the bowl melted the coconut oil in the microwave and poured into the bowl with dry ingredients. Looked for the scrub like texture.  It will solidify after a while but I just place the jar into the shower with me to soften the scrub before using.  The caffeine supposed to be good for skin, coconut oil leaves the skin...

M&S advent calendar review

Image
December can be stressful and it actually was. Get everything ready, keep doing the usual things on top of festive things... so it was nice to get some little presents daily.  There are a lot of beauty advents around. Feel like the market just almost exploded with them in 2016. But then again I might be wrong. But not all of them are for me. Nice nail polish ones are great but I don't do my nails. Or maybe I didn't like the brand, or it was the price.     I would like a Liberty advent or Diptyque but definitely no money to spend of these luxuries.    So after seeing some reviews online I figured that Marks and Spencer's was the one for me.  Price wasn't too bad, £35 but you will have to spend £35 so you can't get it on that offer. But hey I needed pants and also got a cute jumper. Cleaver them making you spend.    The product variety was great, skin care, anti-aging products, hair care, nails, make up. You name it was in the calendar. Brands were ...

Cleansing

Image
The beautician I see every time I go to motherland said that my skin is awesome. Listen up people with oily skin (or whereabouts) due to its extra oils and such we have more natural occurring collagen and this means we age at slower rate. Unless you do not look after yourself. Awesome news really. I was never a huge fan of my skin but hey, slower ageing trumps all the little pimples. Damn them. So I figure got to love my awesome oily skin and get it proper care and attention. I have started to pay more attention to cleansing. I got me Hot Cloth Cleaning Balm from Boots very own Botanics range, which I love and use. Price was great for a tester session too. Actually the idea of hot cleansing was put into my head by Salli Hughes who was on one of the episodes of Scummy Mummies who I adore. Since I have been using this cleansing method, mind you only in the evenings when I put big man into a bath, I have notices couple of things: my skin feels cleaner my skin...

Face mask form H&M

Image
I love H&M despite their issues with sizing and such. Well stay tuned for that post, it's coming.  In case you don't know anything and lived somewhere isolate line under the rock they have launched the beauty and makeup range.  And it is lovely, good quality and affordable! I got couple of things form their range including this face mask  How cool is the minimal design! And it's a one pot kind of a deal. So if you are doing it every so often it's perfect size... I sometimes forget that I need to buyout is or clean, in this case, a deep clean...  Skin is our biggest organ and we do not take much care if it. At the moment I am all about cleansing and moisturising. Mama must stay pretty and young! Well and so she does!! It was a super nice texture and extra nice smell. They actually add perfume to it so I was distracted by it, like a natural sent of product. It felt smooth when I was putting it on but it felt incompatible drying out....

New pretty finds

Cardiff became more interesting after we have came back. More fun shops, more indi businesses, and even more street art. I think since the rugby world cup in 2015 they allowed to draw legally on the wall next to Arms Park and Millennium stadium. And it is beautiful!  Fantastic, aren't they!

Walking snowmen

Image
We are actually away in Russia on holidays. Seeing the family, playing in the snow. Hubby for the 1st time ever seen the real snow if you like. If you are from United Kingdom you know that we, or you, don't do snow. It's all panic and everything stops. Here in Russia we, they, just get in with it. Stephen couldn't get it why my parents weren't excited that it was snowing? He on the other hand had a sparkle in his eye like a small kid at Christmas time second he spotted a snowflake coming down. We just returning back from our 1st time snowboarding! Oh my! This was so much fun. We had an instructor for one hour to explains the basics and show us bits and bobs. Excellent lady by the way called Anna. Imagine the snowboarding girl and you will see her, fresh blond smiley! Considering that a lot of my school mates and my step sister are very keen and always comes winter on the snowboard I never even stood on one.  But now I can tell you blime! I really didn't think it ...

Statement.... Christmas tree

Image
So I guess you all heard about the statement jewellery.... Statement necklaces, statement earrings and such...  Especially after Oscar! God! Statement necklaces everywhere... Like EVERYWHERE!!!! Didn't dig just love the Scarlett Johansson Versace number  or Kate Blanchett Well this is actually one of very few fashion things I cannot do... Well I am getting there.  However you cannot have these beauties with a small child  Also one must have a very long beautiful neck for these and either time to do your hair or have smart short style.  Oh how I miss my short hair sometimes... But think it might be harder in the long term. Anyway, I love the idea. It's like having ruby lips and no make up at all on the eyes. One accent, very tasteful. Like Particia Field styling of SJP in my ever so favourite Sex and the City: either big in top or bottom. It is the winning formula really.  But with jewellery I have a ...

Moisterise me!!!!

Image
As you know everything has been changing... I actually have started to waddle. Me and my friend Marzena have decided that we either like ducks or penguins. Bring on the penguin outfits, they are slimming she said!! So if you see a penguin outfit get us a couple!! But what I actually wanted to write about if the stuff I have been using to keep these strech marks at bay and generally some of the awesome products I loved. I never wrote anything like this before, it's seems rather commercial but hey I love these things, why won't I tell you about them!  I guess everyone is super concerned about the change your body goes throw when you are expecting. As you know I was freaking out and it was hard for me not to do things I normally would do. But I can proudly say that at 9 months of pregnancy I can still reach my toes and did not ask anyone to paint my toe nails! And to keep changed at bay, and not to have any stretch marks (so far, touch wood!!) I have been moisturis...
