Who needs sleep anyway.

Actually I don’t know why I blog anymore…. I guess reflecting on life and hoping that others feels the same. Drop me a message I guess…  Once again life got in a way… also I have more reasons to learn to drive . Spoken to a mum friend the other day and we both came to conclusion that we need to drive to get kids to the beach and such… activities and what not.  Also life been more of a balancing act. Not much sleep, more stress, both boys have issues with their teeth, little about to sprout some and the big needs to get to dental hospital to have them fixed. But with both of them it’s taking a bit of time. We might end up with private dental work for the big as it is taking a bit of time with referral….  But I got the see my friends and even went out for lunch. What a treat! Baby G finally got other people to hold him, he did drool on them and pulled some hair. Nice when it’s not only me that gets to be covered in slobber and having my hair pulled!  I m trying to find...

Red January

Image
I have officially survived the most gloomiest month of the year....  Active January was interesting... Are you on Strava? Husband finished last month on whooping 250km combined running and cycling I just did 41km running and 46km cycling. But still if I didn’t participate in Red January I would be still trying to lace up my trainers and going for a run...  Red January helped me busy my self and being more productive. Not all the time but I was active. And I truly hope remain as active throughout the year.  And we even went on the run with The Running Chanel peeps around the NEC in Birmingham at the National running show. But later about that!     And finally the selfie game is better and my face isn’t size of the moon! Even if my face is rather moon like, at least at this angle I don’t look like I just have face... but also it was nice to go for runs together. And talk about our achievements. I am a member of a running club but I haven’t been in ages and re...

Half term

Image
Social media is great. You can keep in touch with friends, get news, find funny or interesting thing and feel like a total shit that you didn’t take your kid to a pumpkin patch... it’s ok he went with school and really didn’t care much. Besides making memories is different for everyone. And besides half term is busy for us catering people. Who would get your plates to you? Don’t forget to tip your waiting staff! I’m usually very well adjusted and see past the pretty pictures and “real” people. But somehow I feel a bit strange this time around... (to be honest all the people I follow are generally nice and well adjusted without much staging and fakery)  And maybe I just want to be some where sunny...  You know we all are different have different abilities and things to keep us happy... so it’s ok not to do much.  We are busy at work with hubby. But little one will go for one day to his grandparents, we will carve a pumpkins and do stuff. But I have nothi...

Effort

I don’t think life is about balance. I mean it is my go to joke with customers about having wine and dessert. Yes I tell bad jokes, sue me! People love me.  Life well is just life. And it’s all diffident no size fits all...  So let’s play a game! Find this child  I am not good at den building. But I’m good as ensuing people, and fur babies, who depend on me are all covered. Husband can have pasta for dinner again and I will eat maybe some cheese, but kid will have what he likes, maybe sushi rice with grilled chicken and black olives, cat will have the food she likes and bunny will be let out once a day to hop around... (don’t worry husband I’m planning to make pork ragu on Tuesday)  I might look like a hot mess but I tend to have plan. I had a bit of a meh moments this week.  I went to work meeting in a diffident city, how exciting but it made me all stressed and feel a bit shit. Work haven’t been busy, just you know work. I haven’t been as active and I hoped an...

Events

Image
This year seems to be very full of events and shows we saw. I mean only that week when I got so tired in the end by watching 3 shows in the row !  Then we also been to see Pink. And she was well just what you expect her to be. Full on show! With flying dancers, moving props and she flew over the stadium!  We still have few things to see until the year ends but last week we went to Tramshed to see Ash.  It’s funny that my young work colleagues have no idea about band and the joy that “Girl from Mars “ is...  However I cannot call my self a big fan or a connoisseur of their music, I love songs that  I love and well others not so much and I don’t keep with updates and such. I’m one of these wierd people who’s music preferences are really random... from Led Zeppling Immigrant song to soundtrack from Snoopy film.... You know, it’s part of being a mum too!  I didn’t know all the songs, but the sounds is just going throw your whole bod...

And once more with ....

Feeling? Guilt? Promise...  I just saw that didn’t blog all summer holidays, or you there about.  Summer is about juggling, more juggling than usual.  It’s hard when your field of work is shift patterns and so is your partners. So when one of us at work another with Egg, and vice versa. Literary no alone time, I miss that. And Egg and I were in Russia for 3 weeks!  It was nice to see most of the family. It was nice not to stress about work, not that I stress much but still the pressure to perform is there. And it’s nice to cook for my mother, she eats everything and praises me every time.  So few things have happened.  My less waste journey been a bit stressful due sidelong haveing rashes and allergic reactions. So I’m back to use regular shampoos and deodorants. I have decided to cut down on drinking and inpove my overall fitness and health. And save money, there is an app for it. Did you know? I also want to sort this mess, the blog, out. And in the begin...

No sleep till ...

Image
No sleep till Booklyn ... what no! But every day when I wake up at 5am curtsey of my son that’s what plays in my head. And I want to cry. It started couple of weeks ago his regular 5.45-6am get up suddenly changed to 5 or 4 am sometimes.  And I’m the one who gets up with him. It’s ok if I didn’t go to work or had a lay in once a week but with Holiday season here means work is intense for both me and hubby. So when I can sleep I m at work. And it’s great I have a job! But I also miss sleep.  Week one of no sleep I blamed it on full moon.  But now I honestly don’t know what to think. Day before he woke up at 4am but I just preserved with my day and mind went a bit blank when I couldn’t work out why it feels like I have been awake for hours at 2pm... well silly me it’s because I was awake for hours!  Yesterday he got up at 5am... I almost cried but he was so happy and so energetic, so after school drop off and gettting some essential I went for a nap. For 3 hours. ...

So this week

Image
So this week has been long. And it haven’t finished yet.  Monday started with the child refusing to have a shower and get dressed for school. Not the school it self but the dressing process. So in the end I had to pin him down and dress him and we took the pj to school with us. Also I have discovered that the child has a new stage. When he gets upset with me or his one to one, when we say he can’t have something, he lashes out and trying to hurt us. It’s very unusual but I used he is exploring his emotions but not sure how to express them... we are working on it.  Also this happened at school  Meet captain black eye! He slipped on the cloning castle thing and wacked his head. Not as bad as it looks which is nice but he didn’t have one since he was born, here is to the 1st black eye.  We got more words: “why” is being used in context, so was “go away” and he just said “Wally” at Wall-e cartoon!  But yesterday again I had to pin him down to get him dressed.  ...

Funny people

Image
We mainly go to see stand up and other variation on comedy. And well it’s fun.  I gave hubby tickets to see David Baddiel’s My family. Not the sitcom show. See I didn’t actually know any of his stuff but I know he is my kind of funny and when I heard him on Guilty Feminist podcast (their 1st male guest in fact!) I thought we should go see the show.   And it was great! It was funny and heart warming and we still do the red bull joke to one another. And I almost cried at the end.  Also this happened...     So wearing the same shirt!  I can highly recommend this show! David Baddiel is very very funny.  Then I recived tickets to see Scummy Mummies. I was over the moon when I found out, thank you Kirsty, that they are finally coming to Cardiff.  I knew I love the ladies sense of humour and giggle a lot at the podcast but I was a bit worried about the live show and I was taking my mother in law ...  But we laughed loudly, cheered and whooped. ...

RHS Flower Show 2018

Image
You know the summer is not far away when Royal Horticultural Society is in town. It was our 3rd time as well so all and all it was supposed to be a great day.  The grey sky soon cleared out and it was like a different day all together.  All the wonderful displays were perfectly on trend. You are aware that everyone is loving mossier plants now and begonias are very much in vogue! Especially spotted ones.  I think they went with less plastic theme too. All the nurseries and schools wheelbarrows were with that theme in mind and a lot of recycled flower arrangements and installations can be seen aroud the grounds.  The day in my home started silly early. Big guy refused to go back to sleep after about 4am. So he had a little nap so we could see things in peace.  Taking a spirited (grumpy and stubborn) child to flower show can be challenging but there was ice cream and lovely chips. We didn’t make it to kids area it was a bit disappointing actually..  But consi...

Sore legs and bruised ego

Image
You remember how excited I was to start running again . And how amazed I was at the fact that a year off and no training I some how got faster...  (One of my current books, I am all into my running) I even felt brave enough to rejoin the world of fun races and singed up for 10k and 5k races.  However due to poor health, thank you preschool, I didn’t run for over a month. With my new shiny phone that works like magic.  Also due to Snowmaggedon the 10k race is postponed until further notice. Honestly, I will not be signing up for St David’s Day race ever again. It’s second time something went wrong, even if the 1st time around I couldn’t be bothered to get you out of bed. It’s doomed I say! But I did the 5k last Sunday. It was nice little race about 200 people, fun organisation and I almost got lifted by young weight lifting champion. I would have crushed the poor fella!  As for the run it self it was a good route around the park, pretty standard actu...

So tired!

Image
School run is the only reason that I know what day it is. But still I am not quiet sure. Lately Edgar hasn’t been sleeping long. I got excited yesterday when he god up at 5.50am... yes! It is his bad.  But then child pretty much hated good night sleep all his life. And it is the favoured blog topic, a moaning posts... ( here , here , here ... and pretty much many more...  ) This Tuesday after a very emotional Monday I felt ever so tired. Tuesdays are my days, Egg is in preschool and then nursery collect him, so I just need to drop him off and collect him in he evening.  This Tuesday I was planning to go shopping for myself. But I just felt so deflated and a bit overtired.... but I did a bit more complicated hair, wore red (a happy colour)...  And in the afternoon I had a singing and dancing session for about 10 minutes and somehow my day got better.  I suppose as long as you have something active to do and occupy the brain you don’t think th...

Sleep...

Image
August and September were great! Egg slept well at night, not through but he would wake up at 6.45am or somewhere between that and 7.30am and once he even woke up at 8.45am.  But then suddenly he became a hater or restful nights and lover of his super tired mama... we were up at 5am or 5.30 no later than that. Evil child!  It was horrible horrible times!  So I took to internet...  There were two opinions among English writing parents, either go to bed earlier or go to bed later...  The lady in our local shop who has 3 sons said that you just need to ignore them, they would put themselves back to sleep.  Being a true believer in the child that goes to bed late wake up early, I have decided to ignore the cooing toddler by the gate of his room. That didn’t last. He is very persistent. So I thought well let’s try to go to bed about 7.30pm instead of 7pm. And it worked! Doesn’t work all the time but it works. I don’t feel as exhausted all the time as I used to....

How much I love preschool

Image
I loved how every weekday we got up and went to school. How well Edgar walks, how fast, how enthusiastic he is... and how I would leave him there for couple of hours and be just by my self. And then I get best cuddles!  All is well... but on Saturday morning he spiked a fever and was really cuddly and sad. Not my usual happy bouncy boy.  Calpol, milk and cuddles ...  And then it lasted for 3 days! Took him to doctors, all is good just infection. So more calpol.  And no school...  Every time I think right tomorrow he would go to school, he starts coughing so bad that I realise he would scare everyone there. So he was off school all week long.  And what a long week it was.  On Monday we were meant to travel and stay over night in Bristol so see Bush. Last time we saw Bush it was 5 years ago...  I couldn’t dump him on my mother in law same as I couldn’t tell husband not to go. I am not that kind of person. He had a great time, and he touched Gav. So ...
