Some days are just better

Image
Some days are just better than others and more eventful.  Good few weeks ago I had a really long work week, and on the way to work I found out via podcast that Guilty Feminist creator will be showing the film in Cardiff as part of the International Welsh Film Festival... I was however unsure, I really needed a bath and some well deserved rest but after talking to hubby who said “it’s a one off thing and will not happen again, you should go” so off I went. The film is called  Say My Name  and it is very very good. Strong adventurous female lead, fun story totally passes 6 laugh test and I even teared up at one moment. However it is unclear if more people will see it on the big screen. I never knew how complicated film distribution is. I have tweeted about it and got likes and retweets form creators and cast. I was so chuffed! Well still am, like this is my claim to fame!  Then after the world stanges Q&A I got to meet Deborah Francis-White, we chatted about the fi...

Funny people

We mainly go to see stand up and other variation on comedy. And well it’s fun.  I gave hubby tickets to see David Baddiel’s My family. Not the sitcom show. See I didn’t actually know any of his stuff but I know he is my kind of funny and when I heard him on Guilty Feminist podcast (their 1st male guest in fact!) I thought we should go see the show.   And it was great! It was funny and heart warming and we still do the red bull joke to one another. And I almost cried at the end.  Also this happened...     So wearing the same shirt!  I can highly recommend this show! David Baddiel is very very funny.  Then I recived tickets to see Scummy Mummies. I was over the moon when I found out, thank you Kirsty, that they are finally coming to Cardiff.  I knew I love the ladies sense of humour and giggle a lot at the podcast but I was a bit worried about the live show and I was taking my mother in law ...  But we laughed loudly, cheered and whooped. ...

Wonderful Wonder Woman!

I love a good superhero movie. Yes a lot of them are damn similar and but they do entertain and such. And this is point of cinema, provide escapism, entertainment and hopefully send a good message.  I am not much for DC universe, these films take them selves so damn seriously. Oh Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman (BVS:DOJ as no one calling it), I guess Sucide Squad was better of all them but still not without fault.... so to be perfectly honest I did not have much hope for Wonder Woman. But trailers look good, I didn't see much of them but it was... well there was something captivating about the teasers.    I was actually rather excited and would love to see WW on opening night but it didn't happen. Also I have listened to interview with Gal Gadot on Kermod and Mayo film podcast (whittertainment) and it made me happy. But then they read out some of the listeners review and the opinions were very split! From glorious  praise to calling it anti feminist. I am ...

Food circus

Image
Street food circus. Silly name for a fun foodie faire.  We have been last year when it was behind Radisson in Cardiff. This year they have moved to nicer surroundings of Sophia Gardens. And this time me and my girl Viera went in the evening. Me out on Friday night?! What?! I thought I'd never see the day!  It was nice to be out in the evening!  They had a fab selection of awesome makers and cooks!  We had reclette thing. Melted wheel of cheese scraped over potatoes with some serano ham, shallots, crunchy pickles.and I don't like pickles!  Then we head over to brûlée bar! These were little pots of creamy haven, you chose from set toppings or make your own. Too much choice really!  And we washed it down with prosecco cocktail from the tiny prosecco van. I tell you what we all need one of these in our gardens! It was good fun but mainly it was nice to do this with a friend and to catch up!

Date night - Stephen's Christmas present

Image
I just love presents that give more than things, that give experiences and emotions. So the awesome gift he got was the tickets to see Ed Byrne My dearest said that he will always make this lovely face ....  It was the 3rd time we saw him. Steve himself saw him 4 times. And every time we laughed so hard... It is also very nice to see how his comedy changes with his circumstances. Now he is a parents and talks a lot about his kids. We can definitely relate to that!  Mr Burn also comes across as a feminist. Which is awesome! But he has his own reasons for that... So freaking funny!  Actually he did talk about the important stuff. But in a funny way.  And I must say if my child picks up his own clothes they do not have to be gender specific... So hooray for pink shoes and leggings! And we are so getting a DVD when it is finally released. Loved you Ed!

Oh now I like WWE

Image
Ticking the boxes of great wifey and girlfriend we took the boys to see WWE in Motorpoint in Cardiff last weekend. Frankly I was in for a night out and didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did.  We firstly left the baby boy with his Granny, and went for lunch.. Or what would you call lunch and dinner combined? Marvellous lobster been had by most of us! Oh I am a big fan of Burger & Lobster! Actually happened to be there two days in a row....                                     Hubby been trying to get me into wrestling for years! Actual year, but I was never paying much attention, maybe to skimpy diva outfits and beautiful abs here and there.  I guess with arrival of WWE Network Steve got me watching all sorts. I really enjoyed the Legends' House. So much fun! But going back to the actual show...  As much as Stephen keeps saying how big w...
