Film vs tv shows

Image
Every year I get a new diary/calendar and at the back I like to write down films/shows/books I watched and read or audiobook.  And last year I noticed that I watched a lot more shows rather than films. Back in the day when I had a memberships  card to the Cineworld I watch a lot and very different films… now films feel like an effort. And if the end what if you don’t like it? And you have wasted a perfectly good evening. And with series you can (well most of us) dip in and out as we please and even abandon them all together. I only finished true blood recently same with lost girl, they weren’t available on streaming services I had and I lost interest for a bit too… but I gave up on game of thrones and Big Bang theory all together.  Well not only that but tv shows quality is so good! Take Witcher for example? Great. I vaguely remember polish version form 80-90s it was not that this good! Or wheel of time which I have started but don’t feel the urge to continue watching…. B...

Oh 2020

Image
I guess today being 1st of January it seems appropriate to reflect on the year that passed.  It was definitely unique, with its extra stress and worries, thank you history for repeating yourself with pandemic but not influenza but much scarier covid. Well thinking of it I m sure the 1920 pandemic was just as scary.  We finally spend time together. And a lot of time and sometimes it was hard. But I actually really enjoyed that.  And turns out walking is nice gentle exercise for mind and the legs and does wonders for wee man!  I rediscovered my love for sewing and that I definitely hurry the process and well not very attentive to details. Actually looking forward to expand on that and making more things for the house and for myself, and well more face coverings.  I also finally started to read again and not just children books!! I made a little list.  I reassessed my drinking habit and well my general well being. Turns out pregnancy impacts very differently o...

Feminist

Image
I am a feminist. Always wanted better representation for women for as long as I can remember. Especially growing up in Russia.   Don't get the wrong it is a nice country to be in, but it is very traditional in its gender roles. Men who stay at home now are being laughed at and considered to be under the thumb. Men also can chose to stay at home.   At the moment I am a stay at home mum and this is no way makes me less of the feminist. We together made this choice. Besides my work stayed in Birmingham in the middle of UK and we ourselves moved back to South Wales.   (he is the best but I do need contact with grownups... This is an old photo) Growing up in the country where women are all thin with long hair and wear heels all the time when I love comfort of flats. No I love beautiful shoes with heels I just walk a lot and these things don't mix for me. Shoes should be good quality and nice and comfy. Last two are together. Hey I don't really fit in into Russi...

Hot oil hair treatment. Lush. Review

Image
So this will be a sort of review. But I am so not girly in this way that it shall be called thoughts on the matter of the hot oil treatment from Lush. Oh I love Lush. Love the products, love the shops design, minimalist packaging and totally love the cruelty free and vegan stuff. Even if I am not a vegan. It's nice to have company that cares about things like that. But I got off topic here.  So the hot oil treatment looks funny. Like the posh hot chocolate spoons you get over Christmas period. Well the idea is the same, you melt these busy stirring in hot water. Cute and easy to follow really. However I have found it really tricky to put the hot mixture on. Perhaps coz j have a lot of hair or maybe I just didn't know the trick... Is there a trick? Got to say it smells heavenly. And texture was rather pleasant and a bit hot. Should keep this one for 20mins and then shampoo.  This I actually prefer. There are so many different fancy hair treatments tha...

art art art....

I have been hearing a lot about Pre-Raphaelite's in Birmingham museum, then I found out, thank you Twitter, that they also have new exhibition of Grason Perry. So I thought, I know a lot about pre-Rafs and Grason Perry but I am yet to see their art... Not as a reproduction but as a real thing.  I loved Cardiff National Museum so I guess I have expected something similar to B'ham museum.  I was after work, actually it was a late to early shift and then I went to museum. To say I was pooped is it not to say anything, but hey life goes on and one shall remain magical unicorn!  I loved loved the first room you walk into... And the picture of penguins.... And impressive halls and rooms.  With music throw my head phones I began my wonder.  I have managed to get lost in all the endless rooms and halls. I didn't visit the all of it, think it is a project for a day off next time. But I saw who I came to see... And found more things on the ...
