Geekery. Got it from my hubby.

We have this fab saying in Russian you get your traits from people you are with. Well I guess this is true. All my expressions and mannerisms are very very similar to my mother. But then again she is my mother so I guess that's ok.  I also picked up a lot of expressions and words from husband. Well I suppose if some one says "poo" to a lot of things for over 11 years you sort stray doing it too...  However what I didn't expect is how much I am influenced in my choices for "crap TV" and films by him. I recently started to enjoy watching wrestling... I know my Marvel from DC. And I really love Dr Who.  I even marked out calendar when the great doctor is back on BBC!    I actually remember watching Christopher Eccelston becoming the new Doctor. I was waiting for the train back to Neuchatel from my place of training in Chaux de Fonds, I had BBC on in changing room... but I didn't think twice about it until I moved in with hubby in 2006.  Bu...

Cumberbacth in 4DX

Image
My dearest hubby came home one day last week and said... "go to the cinema or something" So I went to see Doctor Strange. I thought I was in for regular 3D but I was in for a surprise of a 4D showing... Totally forgot that the Cardiff Cineworld was getting it installed when we went on holiday.  Film was good, entertaining and introduced the characters and the special powers. I had few giggles and really felt for Dr Strange. If you like your Marvel films you will like this one. Oh and one of the Easter eggs are so funny with sexy Thor in it. It's like a major men-candy of Easter eggs. But I want to tell you about the 4DX thing... Would this be breaking code of conduct as set by Kermode and Mayo? Well I thought it was fun but I think I would avoid this experience, just object to pay for this, even with my unlimited card. Yes I am this tight with money.  The chairs were moving with the screen, the air pumping into the ears and the chair also mimics the fig...

Girl power!

Image
So when I say girl power I don't want to talk about spice girls... But they were empowering and awesome! And some of them became power houses, look at Posh Spice...  Oh sorry kids who were born after 1999 this is Victoria Beckham.  Finally strong females are taking slowly the centre stage! About freaking time I say...  Firstly it is Katniss Everdeen. Admittedly in later films she became a big damaged girl but she's strong! And on my never ending list of things to read.  But how refreshing are shows like Agent Carter. She is not only a super woman but she understands that point in time she was very accepting of her less special role and that "I know what I'm worth" . Gosh just the fact that she knows she's a badass female and doesn't need any male approval....  Then I came across the Blindspot. Not so sure about that but Jane, Jaimie Alexandre cars yet, most definitely a strong female.  But one I really want to talk ab...

Double Standards...

Image
I am glad my baby is a boy. It is easier for boys. I mean, no one will pay him less, or look at his chest when talking to him.... It is all about double standards. Man can get mad but if woman will get mad, she is nuts, emotional or hormonal. Or many other unpleasant labels.  So even if we are in the 21st century there is still place for gender inequality and sexism in general.  But then again it might be unfair on boys now... the girlies are being empowered all the time. Boys not so much...  And then I see this... I saw the billboard and something in the back of my mind bothered me.. I didn't know what it was at first. But then it hit me... Like with Marvel merchandise: no female characters on the poster.  I have been outraged about the Marvel and Disney merch already. I guess they never learn. I was just surprised by Sky Movies....  I do understand Black Widow and Scarlet Witch aren't the leads but neither is Hulk... Or Thor...  And then...

Marvel

So the best way to celebrate your forth wedding anniversary is to do a 10K race, go to the cinema and go to 5 guys for a burger... Well you know all about the race  now I would like to tell about my second favourite instalment of Marvel Universe.  In case you are wondering the Guardians of the Galaxy is my favourite Marvel film! And I have seen it like 100 times!  So we after leaving the little man with Gramy we headed out to see Ant Man. All I knew is that Edgar Wright refused to direct it due to issues with Marvel but still did the story and such.. Oh and of course that Ant Man super power is to get really small. Well I got to say it was really cool and so much fun! We get to see the back story the new story. We got to see the no offence to anyone less important Avenger and we saw Agent Carter. Speaking of a lovely lovely Peggy Carter ( Hayley Atwell ) she has her own show Agent Carter. It's awesome, she's such a badass!! Big fan right now. Oh and i...
