Lockdown. Day 2345

Image
I know I was absent from here but you know it’s been well different.  Life has been put on hold. Keeping sane been a priority.  We have been doing some homeschooling, some days better than others but we did it. And we are still doing it. I am also hatching plans on bit more school stuff on holidays. The child seems keen.  I also rediscovered my love for garden. Especially not that it is in full summer mode I m very much looking forward to poppies to start to bloom. I planted them for two years and it’s the 1st year they are out and strong!  And thanks to Great British Sewing Bee I am very into my sewing now too. Still am a bit scared to use actual fabric but the pinafore I made out of old bedsheet is rather lovely!  And next week little man will be going back two school. Only two days a week but it will be nice to do something different.  Hope you all keeping well too!

Marketing plot

Image
It’s funny how launch of Disney + in UK was around the start of the lockdown. Marketing planning? Did they plant a virus... but all jokes aside we love it!  Unless the internet isn’t working which happens on occasion. But yeah, kid been watching lots is Pixar, I have tried to push Nat Geo animal documentaries but he wasn’t having it. Also we discovered all the short films! Oh my the Float made us both cry and hold little one tight. If husband started with Simpsons I feel into the hole is Star Wars! And there is so much of it and I never even see these before. Oh it keeps me busy when I don’t fancy watching a film or anything (like hubby playing his mine craft)  I guess I was always a fan of fantasy sci fiction fan. I just didn’t have the access to it. But I just enjoy it for what it is, fun escaping and great story telling. I don’t have an issue with new trilogy and with Jar Jar Bings even thought the prequels were well so long and boring.  (Here is my little light things...

Weather

Image
Lockdown continues. But I have to say we were really lucky with weather and we are lucky to have garden.  And we managed to do all the jobs we meant to do about 2 years ago... like painting, clearing the gravel things (aka cats littler box, all the cats, including ours) And this is only before and after! I actually found it rather calming. Just watch the paint adhere to surface...  We also met some snails... this is Trevor. He helps with homeschooling.  I guess we keep busy, we keep active...  But now I am waiting for everything to grow, flowers, herbs, tomatoes. I even potted some of the forgotten potatoes.  Oh with gravel gone cats now poop on flower bed. Anyone had any advice on that? I am hoping that once the flowers will appear the pooping will stop. But now they are just tiny things rather than full tall blooms.  I did asked the little man to help me with pea potting. He got so excited and shook the pea packed... so I have peas growing form flower bed...

Red January

Image
Have you heard of Red January? Basically it’s active January, organised but Mind charity. Well and rightly so at this time a year when everything is bleak and folks are a bit broke after festive season... you van found raise, of get a tee form then that half of proceedings will go to  the charity.  So some days it will mean I will do 10 burpees at home or hoola hoop for 15 mins, but then after school started again it’s more of running and gym and now also cycle.  And today it is half way point of being active and getting it done.... and my legs feel like jelly!  I am not a confident cyclist, I never really had a bike, but I was gifted one for my birthday. But I am trying. I even cycled to work and back! Learnt that I need to wear my sports gear rather then work clothes.  But over all so far so good. I feel strong. I feel like I am doing stuff and feeling happy about it even if I did complain about the run the husband took me on the other day.  I feel like t...

Yesterday

Image
Yesterday was super long for us.  We woke up at 5am and travelled from village in South Urals to local airport then Moscow then London and then finally made it home to Cardiff...  I work up at 2am local time and just couldn’t get to sleep. Now sure why. And then there was no milk for a coffee and child didn’t want to get up....  And we met a block I went to school with in Chelyabinsk airport. He and the family were traveling back home to St Petersburg. I haven’t seen him in years! It was very nice of him to shout my name and have a chat! (Hey, Pasha, it’s been a joy to see you meet your little boy!)   Well Moscow flight was fine. As fine as it can be with small child. Then we were in Moscow airport that was very busy with no chance to get into any of the ladies toilets. Hear me, Sheremetievo you need more loos and better service. Your Costa staff are a bit rubbish!  Then he slept on the flight  For the majority of it too. I watched a Russian film which was ...

Day in grey capital

Image
I used to live in London. I didn’t like it. Sure it was always something to do, but it was also super expensive and lonely, hubby was back in Cardiff.  Now I only come for a day visit when I either need a visa for myself like this time or for the boys to go to Russia. So as I said only brief visits.  I always think that Londoners are rude and anoying... however this time.... I hit the dude with my umbrella, caught my headphones on some other fella backpack, we all smiled at each other and all was good.  When I did eventfully get to place I needed to go I as usual asked the security guard how his day was and then something happened. He smiled told me that it all would be ok (well I was applying to Portugal in a massive visa centre) and gave me a small choccie. Then in the waiting room I chatted to the lady from Palestine who was going to Danmark and had whole day alone there. I hope it all went well for her.  So it wasn’t too bad. Even with rain...  after I went ...

Bank holiday. Hot day.

Image
This last bank holiday treated us with some glorious sun and clear sky. And sleeping if you are a toddler is super hard. It's just warm. Also I really didn't want to do anything so naturally I packed up the swimming stuff we had in the house, bikini for me and trunks for the child (our regular more suitable for pool adventure stuff was at my in laws) along with water wings we heard out for about 40 mins hike to the pool.  So I naively thought we will be there right after opening time so it should be crowed and surly people would rather go the beach or something. Well we were greeted by this...     I wanted to run back home and hide. But I thought I shall not be defeated by this and to be fair the queue moved really quickly. Must be some technical difficulty, or something along these lines.  And pool was fun. Although kid tired to climb all over jacuzzi bit and were whistled at, and he is really strong willed yet totally lost without me. I put him on top the sild...

Taking a year off...

Image
Ever since I have discovered I can run I was doing races pretty much every summer. Exception was when we have moved away from Cardiff but even then I still did Surivial of the Fittest in 2013 and Birmingham half the same year.  Admittedly since Edgar came into our lives I exercise less even ... not at all... I still managed few races and even got the dream time of 10k in 58min.  Yeah it's a great time for some one who doesn't really take running seriously!  But this year I felt the pressure to go running. The pressure to do the races. And I didn't feel happy about it. So I maybe run once this year by my self and once with the club. But as for races... I am taking a year off.  I wouldn't say I am out of shape. We still walk a lot. Thank you Fitbit for keeping me on track. But races are complicated. I need to sign up on time and with enough time to train. Also I want to do as many as I can and can afford. Yes these things cost money. Not much but it all adds up. Also u...

Wedding Ring

Image
So my body changed and I put on weight. It's ok part of life I guess. (sleep deprived selfie)  But what I didn't realised, due to busy mumming life style, is that my wedding band and engagement rings were stuck...  and not just stuck, but my finger even got bigger and was all swollen. And funny and sad thing I do not know how long ago this happened. Just too busy to look after myself.  Like my entire family tried to remove it from me.. and nothing. Hubby tried but I was in so much pain that we had to stop. Did you know that where are tons of YouTube videos on how to remove the ring of the finger. The elastic method seems very good... don't wait to remove your rings how I did it.  I went to see a jeweler to have it cut off in mother Russia. It's cheaper... I had the ring off and resized for about £10  how about this for value for money.... And again nothing it straight forward with me. The rings are stacked and only wedding band needed to be...

Review... In a way...

Image
I consider my self a gym bunny. When we lived in Birmingham if I was not at work I was in the gym or cinema next door. Oh that was wonderful. Bad day at work? Gym time, angry speed running to loud music until I wasn't thinking angry thoughts.... Or gym and then a film as a reward.  It was nice. My body was in a good shape. When we had a hard week at work I think was at my thinnest and fittest... But with a big man in our life's life became more fun and I do not have time for my self. There is always something else to do. So I have tried going back to the gym. That didn't work.  I do see all these super fit mamas on intagram and I am jealous of their awesome achievements on body front and that they have time to them selves. Amazing work ladies! Actually one of them said that babies will grow and leave but your body will stay with you... got me thinking! You might want to suggest that I work out when big man is asleep. Well he was up about 3 times a night and wor...

Well

I can say it is fail! I just cannot to bring my self to blog at the moment...  A lot of things are happening. Egg man is growing and being super active. This child never stops:) we are in the process of packing and possibly moving... Buying a house proves to be super complicated! I am all getting into Christmas mode and want to channel my inner Martha and play a perfect wifey... Yeah that's gonna last!  Me and the little man are heading to mother Russia in a bit... And yet I just can't bring my self to boot the tiny blue laptop of mine and write shit down.  So many things are happening. I shall get around to that!  Lots of love...  And mamma shall be better and blogging and be more fun

Hard Work

Image
Before I have said that mumming is super awesome but super hard work. Keeping the little man entertained ... But there are some things are here to help. Check these out!  These bath light were given to me last Christmas and I totally forgot about them. Until few days ago. Egg loves looking at them playing with them. He gets these out puts them on the edge of the bath and watches them change colour. And this way he actually sits in the bath! Our health visitor said that it's a great sensory play!
