This December

December usually busy and well festive... we both work in hospitality and catering and there are also school things... but this year things are different.  For starters there is pandemic. Means we haven’t really seen anyone. Family since August, some friends since before the 1st lockdown in March ....  I am also very pregnant. I do attract small moons and am super uncomfortable in maternity leggings, that’s says something right!  And then there is school drama. All the lockdown rules and regulations are different in UK. Here is Wales there was a 17 days firebreak lockdown.... and well it didn’t work. Or people are irresponsible or maybe both. So the schools been told to shut from 16 December, happy birthday to me... then last week we got message that some of teachers/teaching assistants got symptoms and we have stay home. Think all of us were hoping for 2 more days of school at least... well they tested positive so children have to isolate until weekend. So double happy b...

Processions

So last Sunday 10 June marked the centenary if women’s right to vote in UK.  Ireland voted yes to repeal the 8th...  It’s been few amazing weeks for women! Emotions are running high... and frankly I didn’t cry while in the procession, even if it was so emotional and touching... but I balled my eyes today. Trigger was the silly series I watch and some sad stuff happened so I am crying about everything that has happened in few last weeks.  I saw the processions advert in for a while but I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do it so I didn’t singed up... so like a 4-5 days before the event I realised that I am free and I so should do this. With my son.  But he didn’t want to play to start with... so after a slow start and riding on my shoulders he walked most of the way in the sun with super fun processions.  We saw some excellent banners .. Heard some women sing beautifully. And girl guides chanting with all their might. You can see my...

International Women's Day. Two Ways

I grew up with 8th March always being a holiday. In Russia there is also the Men's day, technically it is for gents who served in armed forces, 23rd February. But until fairly recently only 8th March was a holiday, however the February holiday is now official thing too. Guess men felt too left out.  Well if you are Russian or former USSR you are aware that on 8th of March you will be getting presents just for being a girl and having a vagina. No matter the age. It's a thing. And that would be pretty much it.  Living abroad where the day is just a day... but I think either I have started paying attention or the feminism was in the air this year. And here is everyone's favorite feminist... Lots of ladies shared photos and stories about their inspiring girlfriends, actual real life examples of female awesomeness were all over social media. And of course some of my male friends asked the old time question "when is men day?" And I was pleased to see that a...

Stephen's pre birthday festivities

It is hard when you move to the new place.... You do not really know where to go and what to do and most importantly you do not know who to do it with. Luckily our friends are amazing and always come to visit, and vice versa. Owen came over for couple of days... and we were heading to Alton Towers. Well we thought we were. We went to Dudley Zoo instead and clouds decided to clear out so we had a barbecue in the garden after. For a smallish zoo only 30 mins away from our house it was actually quiet fun and big.  Walking around lemur enclosure with them just running free next to you...  Here is Owen talking to monkey... "Hey Monkey... Monkey!!! Hey Monkey..." Actually he has a quiet a wild life whisperer... Do not know how long we would have waited for penguins to go to the water, if Owen didn't have a stern word with them. .. True Story! For the barbecue I was supposed to clean it and make a dessert... Oh! Strawber...
