It's just hard

Image
Get your minds out of the gutter!  Mumming..... Who knew it is hard to deal with super active toddler. Did you know that aged between 12-24 months or so they have tantrums!...  And it is normal...  It is very hard to deal with. The big man cannot quiet express himself ... So he screams and screams and some time throws stuff. More often when I pick him up to soothe hit flaps is arms around and I get slapped a lot... Or he bangs his head on the floor as a protest.  And this is normal. Who knew?!  Toddlers cannot quiet say or express what they hey want or need so tanties are happening. My Facebook mamas said that it will pass and I just need to relax and not to worry. That it is only a stage...  Basically motherhood is kicking my butt at the moment it's not fun...  We are also started using reusable nappies with hope that big man will realise when he needs to go and will be willing to sit in the potty.. But so ...

Time flies

I simply cannot believe we are in Christmas mode already. The year just few by... And when I look at the little man sometimes I just do not understand where my tiny baby gone and who replaced him with this toddler?!  Look just how grown up he looks at this photo  I never felt like "oh I'm so sad my baby grows up so quickly" I am excited that he learns new things becoming a small individual with his own personal tastes. And then I blink and he looks so grow up!    I actually don't remember what it was like when he was just a little baby. I might have just blocked this out, who knows... Or maybe it is just a lack of sleep!  Have you seen these parenting motivation pic? Like if you are not crazy you are not doing it right? I am totally bananas now. So crazy that after no training what so ever (I maybe been out for a run 3 times since Cardiff 10K) I'm doing the Movember 10k this Sunday and then on Monday little man and I are travelling to snowy an...

Fail fail fail!

So we had a pretty standard morning.... But it all ended up with a quick trip to emergency.  Some one face planted into the shelf... And will now possibly have a small scar.... Thanks goodness he didn't need stitches and was a real trooper until the nurse was popping the glue and paper stitches on.  However that made me feel terrible. Am I a bad mother?  I really don't think I am. I m doing a good job, just need to be remind of it.  But babies learn explore and do fall, bump and faceplant.... It is all part of growing up!  But the guilt! The people would say that I m terrible mother... Why are we being judged?! ...  That' s all for today. I shall go now and keep feeling guilty!

Mum v Identity

Image
Some of you might know that I still do not know what I want to be when I grow up... So I sort of always had an identity crisis. When I fell pregnant I thought "Oh nothing will change!"... yeah right! That so well I don't want to say naive.... but yeah totally is. I struggled a lot with becoming a mother. Do not get me wrong motherhood is the most awesome thing ever! But going through the change, having some one coming out of you is ... well extraordinary and so very challenging. I had a slight baby blues but luckily I was over that fairly quickly. But then I had hard time calling my self a mummy, or refer to Egg Man is my son. So I prefer mama, and that seem to make a difference. Feels more fun! Mummy is too traditional, too sweet, then mama is different and fun. Yes, I thought about this for a while. It is hard not to be just mama.. Especially if you are staying at home with mini me. All you become is mama. It is great if you can shift the baby weight and are ...

Motherhood. Quick updates.

Today Egg decided to mushed banana into his face.... while the banana was still in the bowl. It was just too cute! He is learning new things, like cuddling, eating new things, chewing things properly and chasing after mama. That is super hard! He runs, as fast as he can, and yells at the closed door or at the blocked stairs. But he also forgets how to do things, if before he was waving like a mad person now he barely does this. I suppose we need to practice more... It was also a week of new things. We finally met lovely Lucia, Egg was so pleased to see another little one. When we were walking around in the restaurant we looked into the pram with a little 9 week old baby. Eggy's face was a picture, he was so pleased to looked at some one who is so small. Although he still did not master "gentle touch" he really wanted to touch Lucia but he just wanted to do the usual bashing. So that didn't happen, but she did touch him. So freaking adorable. Also ...

Statement.... Christmas tree

Image
So I guess you all heard about the statement jewellery.... Statement necklaces, statement earrings and such...  Especially after Oscar! God! Statement necklaces everywhere... Like EVERYWHERE!!!! Didn't dig just love the Scarlett Johansson Versace number  or Kate Blanchett Well this is actually one of very few fashion things I cannot do... Well I am getting there.  However you cannot have these beauties with a small child  Also one must have a very long beautiful neck for these and either time to do your hair or have smart short style.  Oh how I miss my short hair sometimes... But think it might be harder in the long term. Anyway, I love the idea. It's like having ruby lips and no make up at all on the eyes. One accent, very tasteful. Like Particia Field styling of SJP in my ever so favourite Sex and the City: either big in top or bottom. It is the winning formula really.  But with jewellery I have a ...

hello!

Hello, I am not AWOL... I am really busy with this one... Look how he grown! Mother's day is on Sunday... I think I should come with terms that this little monkey will call me mum, so I can accept this. But yet still I don't feel like all these mummies around. I am special bread of mummy not the conventional type.  Motherhood is fun and amazing. But also time consuming and exhausting.... I would not change it for the world!  So hopefully with this regime form me as well as from Edgar I will be able to blog more and more!

One Month

On the 15th August my waters broke... Then on the 17th I heard my Milky Boy scream...  We had a really bad bad labour and a very long one, ended up with failed attempt with forceps and then a c section. So much for never being in hospital...  Milky Boy is a big boy, he was 9 pounds 4 ounces, 4kg 200gr for my metric friend... And he eats loads!  Considering how awful the labour has been, having my baby here is amazing! I still feel funny about being a mother, I'd rather not think about this as a life changing thing or as a new role. I take it every day as it comes and one problem at the time... that includes being peed on! So far I had a bit of baby blues... amazing it did not turn into full on depression!  Just holding him makes me so happy. We also discovered the joys of formula milk, that baby of ours eats soo much, so we have to top him up. And joys of dummy. Last one is very recent and saved me from being used as a dummy and now I ca...
