Town in quarantine

So yesterday I took wee man to school. He was confused as it was different his teacher looked like an alien with a visor and “beep” thing to take his temperature and it was the wrong entrance. But after being a unsure he had a good day. We are all pleased and relived... and I went to town. 

The non essential shops are allowed to open in Wales now. So I was curious what was opened. Oh don’t worry I would put the mask on second I walked into anywhere and used a hand sanitiser after. I was hoping to look for second had treasures in charity shops but that was not to be as the majority is still shut. Could be because of extra steps to follow or to the fact that folks who volunteer are older and perhaps are still shielding. 

But town was something else... 

River was still and it wasn’t very cold. 

Half of the roads in city centre are closed and there are cyclists, and very few people out actually. Well it was early on Tuesday I guess. I needed to get bigger trousers for Egg, he really grew over this time and well  he can’t wear shorts all the time! 

City centre is all lined with directions. There are few police officers dismounting the cyclist on main pedestrian routes and advising folks to walk on the appropriated side of the road. 

The queue to Primark was a bit silly. There was like entire families waiting to get in... why? And I saw a lot of people wearing masks with their noses out. What is the point? It’s like having your undies on with bits still hanging out!! 

Even the inside the shopping centres there was directions you should be going

But of course there were conv-idiots standing in front of the escalators blocking the “traffic” discussing what shop to go to.

I didn’t feel unsafe but the feeling of the city centre was a bit different. I guess this how it should be from now on. Slow and steady. 

I am truly worried about pubs reopening... can we just all be cool and well socialise on zoom or at sage distance and not give money to evil companies who sacked all their staff second lockdown happened... yes Wetherspoon I am looking at you and your sticky floors. 

I got little man some new trousers that fit. I think these 3 pairs I got will see us until autumn and the we will need to go size up. Again.
