Jelly legs

Image
So you know my last post about Red January... This is literally three faces of running...  no willing, determination and well just doing it ( actually it was after my run on the cool down walk)  This is hard. I keep on going... And if you ask my hubby I winged and complain. Most of it is for his benefit but yesterday I was in pain and in no fit state!  Actually I went for a class with my favourite gym instructor Matthew. He is always there to guide and have a laugh with, he is great coz I have noticed that not all instructors will take time and correct the form, posture or advice. And his music choice is good! So as usual I did get enthusiastic and I was paired up with boys... the only boys in the class. I showed them! And then I couldn’t move much the next day. So husband says go for a run, do 3km... I did 4. The next day was a longer run with husband after the school run. Oh little one loved us both taking him to school, he kept on smiling and playing catch the dada.......

Red January

Image
Have you heard of Red January? Basically it’s active January, organised but Mind charity. Well and rightly so at this time a year when everything is bleak and folks are a bit broke after festive season... you van found raise, of get a tee form then that half of proceedings will go to  the charity.  So some days it will mean I will do 10 burpees at home or hoola hoop for 15 mins, but then after school started again it’s more of running and gym and now also cycle.  And today it is half way point of being active and getting it done.... and my legs feel like jelly!  I am not a confident cyclist, I never really had a bike, but I was gifted one for my birthday. But I am trying. I even cycled to work and back! Learnt that I need to wear my sports gear rather then work clothes.  But over all so far so good. I feel strong. I feel like I am doing stuff and feeling happy about it even if I did complain about the run the husband took me on the other day.  I feel like t...

Nothing new challenge

I saw the petition I don’t remember who started it but I know I have signed it, about giving Next (its a clothes, shoes and such) staff Boxing Day (26th December, still a bank holiday in UK) a day off rather then having a massive sale from 6am.  To me the idea after the relaxing Christmas Day and then getting up at stupid o’clock to shop seems rather ridiculous! So if the customers are through the door at 6am means the staff where are at what 4am. How much stuff do we need?!  I do like the idea of a sale and a bargain, who doesn’t!   But from last year I am trying to educate my self and think before I buy.... I am a big fan of Fashion Revolution, who are fighting for better transparency where our clothes come from.  Like my running trainees were the most expensive thing I purchased last year, they are made in Vietnam.  Are the workers who made them were paid fairly? Were their working conditions good and safe? We’re they treated nicely by their employers? Anothe...

2020

Image
I don’t remember us getting excited at 2010 and shouting ah new decade! But then again the social media wasn’t what it is now and well ... we just weren’t us then.  I didn’t actually realised that I didn’t blog in December at all but it was a very stressful month with work, school and life.... We both even work New Year’s Eve. Which isn’t unusual but it is unusual since we had to drop off the offspring to grandparents and such... and then we did realised that we didn’t spend much time together at all.  So in 2020 we are very much hoping to change that.  In other things I m doing good with my zero waste swaps, stop cutting my self with a razor! Egg is thriving in school and we did get official diagnosis for him. Many doors have opened to get help.  (And boy, he loves glitter and school so much) Steve is a naturally very stubborn and can run half marathon in under 2 hours which is truly amazing!  I run that race in the worst conditions ever and didn’t melt or died...

Feel Good Box. Review

Image
Oh we haven’t had a box review in a while. Well I couldn’t actually find something I liked to try but finally I give you the Feel Good Box Their website promises the natural beauty and self care.  Well unlike many other boxes and subscription things this one offers the one off box. So I didn’t need to remember to cancel. And the communication was excellent. Pretty much as soon as I ordered my one off box, I was emailed if I wanted their new November box rather then old October one. And then I had issues with my delivery, somehow the house number was missing of the address but the package was resend again free of charge. A fabulous customer service.  And inside it was magical too  I am already using the reusable makeup pads, and these are excellent quality! There is body oil, bath soak, beauty balm that smells heavenly, body buff (I am unsure off), motivational notecard. All this come in Lille jute bad with hand written note on handmade paper. All the pa...

Baby rave once again

Image
I have heard of Big Fish Little Fish Events form Scummy Mummies podcast ages ago and we have been to one in Tramshed. Last time I found it a bit too much for the little guy, it was hot it was crowded and he just kept a in running from and to the toilets. Nightmare. So we haven’t been for couple of years.  But this time the event was in Depot. It is a much bigger venue and it was fabulous.  Egg was very happy to explore the area and look and touch things. Few times I have say no and get traffic lights out, but he was a very happy and well behaved self. And I could see him. And it wasn’t too loud. Unlike in tramshed.  There were 2 bars, massive craft and baby crawl areas. Pizza place and a lady with magnificent cupcakes and cakes. Some nice benches and chairs for folks to chill at. And there were photo booths and face paining. The photo booth with printed photo was a very affordable £2 and tons of props.  There was also Santa! One of our classm...

After the race

Image
So what do you do after running or maybe swimming in the park for 10k? Well after I warmed up I got dressed and went to local Antique mall. Hey Cardiff would you call Jacobs Antiques a mall?  So anyway I went on adventure among all the pretty old things. (Husband hint hint)  Ignore the funny face... but if I see the hat, I must try the hat!  How cool is that RAF ladies hat?!  But you know I have a big head or big hair none of them fit me! But never mind! This one was just so pretty with a not to bad of price tag of £75 but I don’t need it or can actually afford this. I did however send this picture to my mother who couldn’t decide if she wanted something similar we saw in a charity shop for a quarter of the price... she is regretting not getting it by the way!  I don’t like teabags very much. I like loose tea and I have a modern version of one of these. But look how cute! Also have you seen that report on micro-plastics in posh teabags? Right! On that note Cardi...
