Trip to V&A

Image
I had a London trip again last week this time to get visa for little one to go to Russia. So I thought must combine the business and pleasure ... and went to V&A.  Originally I intended to see Firda Making herself up. But guess what it sold out! Until Agust! Unless you are member, which I am not. And well briefly considered it but I don’t go to London often enough. But after enquiring at the help desk and a wonder about the museum I went to see Fashioned from Nature.  And it was great!  Basically how humans used nature in fashion... and it’s not nice. Humans aren’t nice when it comes to making clothes.  And upstairs were sustainable fashion... it made me happy and hopeful for the future. This lion cloth is embroidered and it’s fabulous! Hat from thorns! Yeap these things are actual dead birds.... as decorations... horrid!  And of course there was a lot on Fashion revolution and who made my clothes movement.  I’...

So I am Russian. I will be getting British passport next year so I had to get a visa to go on holidays with family to Portugal this weekend.  It's proven to be very difficult. Hard to find the website, then it was all in Portuguese. So took me absolute forever but the appointment I could get was this Tuesday when we fly on Saturday.... I really didn't think I would be making this holidays.... However.... The lady who I had interview with was very helpful and I had my passport with new shiny visa just few hours later.  To be honest all the staff in Consilate General were very helpful. Even if you had to wait for a bit but everyone were leaving very happy.  And I also had an interesting day out. I had an protein juice thing from this place... As we know juicing is in right now. Then I wondered around the shops. Couldn't really go very far.... So Antropologie fun, I just want to live in that shop. Or buy everything! So many wonderful things they h...

We are preparing for our holidays in Mother Russia. This means that Edgar needs to get a visa ... So is his Dada and Grammy. And it's a hassle! And I actually had to go to London...  But at least I got to see this cute chap!    And for the 1st time Edgar stayed with Grammy for such a long time. Everyone was  happy. I was actually worried that he would grouch too much but they had a great day together. I on the other hand had a slightly stressful day. I was worried about application form, that I've forgotten stuff and that Egg is driving Grammy up the wall crying and kicking off...  Well everything was rather good. So now we are busy preparing for Babushka's arrival and our trip over there.

Trip to Grey Capital...

Perks of working for a large hotel chain is that you can stay somewhere nice for cheap!:) Yay! We stayed in lovely 4* in Kensington area of London.  Shame about the weather really, our event we went to was in Kensington Roof Gardens .  One amazing location.... Really really stunning, but rain and cold and wind really interfere with the party....  But first things first... I went to V&A. I like taking bump into museums, makes me feel all super mummy worried about eduction of my mini me from the very start... or, some of you might think I'm just crazy!  One of few things I miss about living in London is the museums!!  Main reason to go to V&A was to see The Glamour Of Italian Fashion exhibit.... Many reasons to see that, Elizabeth Taylor jewels from Bvlgari, Gucci vintage, Italian Glamour.... My friend Olga who is currently lives in Milano says that Italians are just so pro fashion and so much glamour in them. Unlike whe...

in a week I will be in sunny Spain!

I got the visa! I know for most of people the whole visa concept is rather bizarre but for me at this moment it is a sad reality. But after many trips to London I got my passport back with shiny new visa! I celebrated with steak and a red wine. I would say it was the 1st red of the season but I had some in Russia so the season been kind of opened already. But the steak! It was so good!! ... everything else was a bit average but the steak!! this beauty been cooked in Garfunkel's next to Paddington tube station.... My waitress was great. Chips were average, but I had good food and great value for money.  I actually, dispite the weather had a good time in Grey Capital. But the shock... instead of HMV on Bond street station there is a Forever 21.... Not sure how I feel since I have not been actually getting actual CDs and Books in a while, but it was like a special escape place for me when I was studying not far from it.  Oh well... But I saw these lovely...

I have been busy

This week seems a bit never ending... I spent two days on the trains from and back to Birmingham. I went to Bath to tidy up the old flat... Walking from the house back to the train station I was think that this city is very beautiful and I was very miserable there. I walked passed the old work and I did not come in to say hello, I am a little be confused about this. I do miss you guys!  Then the next day I went to London to Russian Embassy to pick up my passport!! Woooo!! The journey it self was good, apart from the dude next to me who was chatting on the phone to some one for the whole time! Like an hr and a half!! Crazy! I was in a queue for my passport for one hour, this is not a great organisation I got to say... But I have it now  even if they did not spell my new married name correctly...  To celebrate and kill some time before my train back I went to Camden. Oh Camden, wish I was where earlier and had more time to look for treasures...

Vintage... My Love!

Image
I was always fascinated of the 50's dresses, 60's tiny skirt and flat shoes... I got married (fake wedding) in a vintage dress... Well and it was better quality then you can get on high street... and vintage is green! Don't care what you say but my snake skin clutch bag makes me think that I recycle that unknown snake fellow who had to die to become one... It's bad but hey, it's better then chuck it out, this bag has been used by me over and over again.... So I went to Cardiff Vintage Fair... There are only few vintage shops that I know of, it is almost impossible to get inexpensive vintage piece in Welsh Capital. Ebay is a life saver then... Fair was good but, lacking something... I don't know I just did not feel it there... But I did get these beauties for £7 only!! Sadly I have lost the broach last night coming back from the cinema...  So the next day after the fair I got up early and went to London... Walki...
