Spin class

Image
I have always loved a good spin class. But it is difficult to come by, not the class itself but the good instructor.  I’m a member of pure gym, you know it’s opened all day long, not that I ever went at night but the thought is there, and well it’s cheap and has classes. I do variety of things but few weeks ago I attended 3 spin classes with 3 different instructors. And it was such a different experience every time.   Monday was the worst, weather it’s because I found it a bit demotivating that instructor wasn’t on the bike or the choice of music, no one needs a remix of Immigrant song by Led Zeppelin! Or maybe it was the way said instructor was giving instructions... lets just day I double check who is teaching what now. And avoid anything by this dude.  Wednesday it was the same lovely dude who did a class before. Two classes back to back with lovely softly speaking dude with fabulous chilling and melodic music damn right I got the burn on!  Wednesdays are my ...

Euro 2016 Stronger Together

Sporting events... These are usually fun I guess. But still I prefer figure skating to football. And would only watch rugby if Wales are playing.  But the awesome news of Wales qualifying for Euros and actually playing is truly great!!  My dad was watching Wales play in Russia and sang in the middle of the night when they won the 1st game. And was rather upset but yet excited when Wales kicked Russia's butt.  And we even made it to fan zone in Millennium Stadium in Cardiff (yes, I am aware it is called Principality Staduim, I won't call it that).  Well the fan zone was something else... And I guess it's cool that we went. But given an option again I think I speak for all 4 of us we won't go again. Small screens, drunk so called supporters, paper air-planes... Well I guess a lot of people just wanted to party. Which is cool but when a lot of people started to leave before the game ended... That's just bad form. Oh I am talking about ...

Yoga

Back in the, was it 90s or early naughties when Madonna came back with awesome Ray of Light album and new fitness thing yoga? Well ever since then I was very interested. Mother of course saw it as a cult and wouldn't let me go. With time I forgot about it and when I did remember thought that one must be super educated in the whole thing yoga before attending. So it never happens. Pilates yes, even Wii Fit Yoga happened but never the actual yoga. I was still too scared. And I did crossfit class few times?!  I also like the idea of yoga... You know the whole Zen feeling calmness and no violence way. Considering I was pushing myself all last year to get a PB in 10k. I know I seem controversial but hey I am a woman therefore I am a mystery. Or you know crazy. Which ever you prefer.  So adding more to this confusion my mother now is a fan! And while I m here I in Chelyabinsk city I went to her class. Terrified. I was also late. So I couldn't talk j will probably fall down in...

Bupa run... My first half marathon done! And I got a T-shirt :)

So it was a very implosive race entry... I walked pass the ad for Bupa Great Birmingham run way too many times and though "Oh why da hell not!"... But when I got the number through the post and all the bits and bobs I thought "Oh what have I done! Silly silly Daria" But actually it was not that bad after all. I did talk to the organizers, elite athletes and other crazy people who are running for fun. That's actually a perk working in hospitality industry... We all were very concerned about the weather... When I got up at 6am to have breakkie it was peeing it down. I though that I needed a wet suit to run in. But the sky cleared and the sun was shining... we were actually boiling. Well I was... also that dude who run in the Iron Man outfit. Yes, full on Iron Man... yes, that dude in red and yellow... The organisation was amazing, lots and lots of support, signs, water stations, even a shower, power station (jelly babies and vaseline) and a l...

Book was good... but the amazing Drew Barrymore did one amazing film... Whenever I am down or lonely or need a pick me up... its is on my screen. I was so much in love with the idea of roller derby that my loving hubby got me beautiful quad roller skate for Christmas few years back... Skated once in them... this shitty British Weather! Currently there are some changes are coming our way and I am looking into joining the team....  Love sport! love to roll!!  Hell Yeah!!! Also read the book... its very cute and real easy to read.... It is by Shawna Cross and the original name of the book is Derby Girl
